As a big Eddie Chambers fan I would love to see this fight. I was watching his last fight against Oquendo and Toney looked like complete crap. All this nonsense about Toney taking on the Klitschko's, he needs to get past a prospect first if he wants to be ranked highly again. I think Chambers would rip Toney's face with left jabs and straight rights. Toney wouldn't even beat the other HW prospects such as Alexander Povetkin and Cristobal Arreloa

Chambers has learned his lesson from the Povetkin fight and he will beat Povetkin in a rematch that I am sure of. Chambers is young and hungry and will be world champion one day.

I am not sure about a possible Povetkin fight - but i completely agree that Chambers is way better at this point than Toney.

Chambers is not a bad fighter but let's get straight the facts.

Chambers lost to Povetkin. Povetkin himself is not established yet as a top connder and has only 16 fights. Who else has Chambers faced or beaten?

Toney on the other hand has faced tougher competition and has arguably beaten every heavyweight he faced so far.

Let's not overrate the Hayes and Povetkins. They must first prove themselves.

I don't think you could argue that he beat Oquendo.

Hmm two very skilled jelly rolls who cheat themselves by not training %100. Both of these guys frustrate me as they could give much more than they usually do IMO. That said, I think I would have to go with Chambers to outwork Toney for a UD 10 or 12 win.

Yeah, but I don't think that was a close fight. I only had Toney winning three rounds.

I had Oquendo winning a close one against Toney. Eddie Chambers would beat both anyway.

chambers with a fair amount of ease because regardless of what his deluded fans seem to believe, james toney simply isn't a very good fighter anymore. chambers is the pick of the american heavyweights imo.

Eddie Chambers beat Calvin Brock who was once a top 10 heavyweight, he also beat Dominick Guinn who's a good solid fighter. I think Chambers is a better fighter than Povetkin and he won the first 4 rounds against Povetkin. Chambers purposely threw the fight away because no one was giving a chance and the odds were against him, Chambers probably listened to the criticism that was against him.

And Povetkin is a skilled heavyweight himself. Chambers probably now motivated after his loss would like to get back on top beating guys like James Toney or Christobal Arreola. Toney is more experienced but he's completely faded, his last fight just proves that. I don't think Toney can beat anyone who's a top 10 heavyweight, let alone promising prospects. Pretty soon if Toney continues fighting, he will become a gatekeeper, and he will certainly lose to Chambers, Arreloa, Povetkin, or any other promosing prospect.

    be real.

eddie simply wasn't conditioned well enough to keep up with sasha's superb workrate. nothing to do with throwing it away on purpose. chambers was getting a fair amount of support on this board in the build up to that one. povetkin was the favourite but it was by no means one way amongst the fans.
