Yeah, I love watching GGG, but I too think he's relatively easy to hit. But it seems there's a lot of people on here who think otherwise.
He can't be to make a statement like that. GGG has fought nobody at elite level yet. Although of course that's not his fault. What about GGG vs Nunn and McCallum? (The version Toney beat)
Yeah, but I keep reading that according to compubox, GGG has one of the best defences in boxing today. A few people have told me that within the last few months.
I really can't see how anyone could reach that conclusion, especially after watching the Monroe fight
Yes. But it was a flush KD, Toney wasn't even hurt. He was just off-balance. Toney took several bombs from Sam Peter without flinching. And from Hasim Rahman. And from Evander Holyfield. And from Lucas Browne. And from... the list goes on.
Really on what reasoning do you state that Golovkin is a 'much better' fighter than Jirov? Jirov was a monster, and would have continued to rule the CW division after the Toney loss had he not moved up to HW in chase for a rematch with Toney... Add to that that Jirov was a naturally bigger and stronger fighter than Toney when they faced each other at CW. Golovkin wouldn't even be bigger or stronger than Toney at MW.
This poll actually turned out to be a good measuring stick. Good lord is ESB a mess 21 votes and counting for GGG by KO. Yikes!
Anyone who voted GGG by KO should be banned for the sake of the forum. These idiots clearly don't know anything about the sport and are just a waste of space.
Really? Reggie Johnson, Mike McCallum, and Michael Nunn? I'm not saying the MW division was its strongest ever at that time, but it was Murderer's Row compared to the current MW division.
Nunn was a great win. It was a weak Middleweight division and James fought a lot of no hopers in obscure places. GGG's problem is Cotto won't fight him. He is looking to unify all the belts. Toney didn't even try. If GGG beats Lemeiux, Cotto/Canelo, and Lee it would be a heck of an accomplishment. More than James Toney ever did in any weight class.
Michael Nunn would disagree. I see through your agenda as well... You are hating on Roy Jones by making that statement, and doing a bad job of hiding it.
Toney was a master technician counter puncher a brawler like GGG is like breakfast for Toney. Is like the Jirov fight but worse because Toney was going to be bigger man.
