At which weight? It only applies to Toney, but if they are fighting at cruiserweight, Toney had much better stamina. If he is a fat heavyweight, he would tire in the late rounds.
Jersey Joe scores a runaway decision. Toney,as good as he was at the lower weights, has never beaten a quality prime heavy. Joe would be too fast and skilful.
Jersey Joe would lose not a minutes worry over this mismatch, and Toney IS a great and slick fighter. Toney IS a throwback, not just someone that calls himself one, but Walcott is FAR Superior, bigger & stronger too!
Walcott all the way. During Walcotts rampage in the late 40s he prety much cleaned out the heavyweight division, and beat every type of fighter imaginable. That Walcott is a nightmare for anybody.
Toney is fast and slick as they come, but Walcott was just as fast just as slick and was a legit heavyweight not just bloated up to heavyweight like Toney. IMO Walcott takes a wide unanimous decision win. Making Toney look kind of average in the process.
Walcott probably wins but if Walcott really did lose and struggle with Maxim you better believe Toney pushes him all the way
maybe Burt Bienstock might be able to affirm just how capable Joey Maxim was, look at some of the tough fighters he beat, some of the great boxers he beat and some of the BIG BOYS he beat too. I think Maxim was far better than your implying here!
