Her also gets highly underrated becuase he wasn't always serious with his weight and training. People also just look at who he lost to as well, w/o understanding some of the circumstances. Still, this is a prime vs. prime discussion. Assuming the best of each fighter is it not?

Stylewise, Toney's a big favorite here. Lets not act like Joe C is a defensive master. He'll get his, and a lot. Toney could be as active as Joe C, but he had solid technique and an uncanny ability to just make guy miss while being an effective aggressor. Toney was an very accurate and hard hitter. Joe C beating mainly local or untested talent doesn't tell me how he'd do against someone who would at least be be his equal in hand speed and be a much beavy hitter, which is in part due to his accuracy. Joe's the less skilled of the two, has worse defense, and didn;t have Toney's punch.

Prime for prime, wide Toney UD. If they were to actually meet in the ring, Joe's chances increase solely because, well, it's James Toney and we know he was not always 100% in the ring.

    My two cents.

Oh, I could point out that Thompson beat an inexperienced cruiser weight, but what's the point.

    Was he Black or White?

  4. If he wasn't serious with his training or diet OR put in 100% all of the time that's his problem no excuses, if he's to ****ing lazy to train that's a lack of discipline that shows his stupidity, you never see CAlzaghe with that problem:-(

Who cares anyway: It's blatantly obvious that joe would have never in a million years stepped in the ring with a prime Toney during any point in his career.

Benn and Eubank have both stated in interviews that Joe would beat them. I am pretty sure Collins did too.

In there prime...really.....bring those interviews up...I seriously would love to read, hear them...

Eubank when he faced Calzaghe was half the fighter he was pre Watson...

*I love both Benn and Eubank, but both avoided the big Americans in their day and openly admit it*

I look forward to reading the links...

    Cheers in advance...

If it's true, what difference does that make on whether they would or not beat Calzaghe in their prime.

Their media whores now (particularly Eubank who's a bankrupt and needs money, he has never been bothered by what he says anyway as he sees it all as a means to make money; he always stated that).

Benn is a staunch Christian who has turned back on Violence (seriously have you heard the things he says in interviews of late, wow!):

I will keep a look out for them and get back to you, I think I seen one interview with Benn on youtube.

I also seen a tv show clip with benn and eubank talking on a chat show before one of their fights. They had a satellite link up with the USA with Mickey Rouke, in the gym with Rouke was Toney who spouted his usually classy routine to Eubank and Benn. Will post you the links when I re-find them.

Eubank was half the fighter he was post watson no matter who he fought. Didnt want to cause injury to another boxer.

Yes, seriously, I would like to see them; an interesting read.

As I have stated though, and I love them as boxers, Eubank and Benn were British boxing legends, but not world boxing legends (in the sense). Both openly admit about the boxers they avoided (US ones), particularly Eubank (who I think the better of the two). He is very Candid about it, and this blights his career and standing long term!

In his prime, pre Watson, Eubank was very good.

If the weight drained near retired Eubank who faced Calzaghe can give what Joe says is the "toughest fight of his career"; what does a young pre Watson, prime Eubank, do to him?
