Joe in and and out double and treble jabs, staying away from real danger to nick a very close SD.. Maybe even a draw had it happened as a fight I'd have had a quid or 2 at 25 to 1 the draw.. Not a great match up, cat and mouse

Toney goes to the ropes and counter Calzaghe, it would be a lot like the Jirov fight, Joe's a bit faster than Jirov but didn't pack quite the punch. Harold Lederman has Calzaghe by one point the judges give Toney a decision by 3 or 4 rounds. Winner: the fans

Slappy Joe by points most likely. Toney would probably have to KO him to win.

Calzaghe on points. He's just too active.

    Calzaghe by points

Toney gets outhustled and Joe doesn't fall for his traps lying against the ropes.

Calzaghe is overrated on here, but I think he could beat Toney.

joe wasn't as easy to hit as Jirov and was smarter. Jirov fell for Toney's trap. Joe will not.

Joe wasn't particularly hard to hit except for an over the hill Roy Jones. He got caught coming forward all the time and exchanged almost constantly. It's kinda his thing. Hell of a chin on the man but there are just too many opportunities for Toney to counter. He almost always threw a flurry of straight punches when his opponent hit the ropes which Toney was great at countering with his shoulder roll and straight right. He doesn't have Nunn's reach or McCallum's technical ability.

An in shape Toney is made to slice up swarmers. I doubt Joe beats Toney unless he fights nothing like himself.

joe was actually relatively easy to hit, relying on a good chin to take him through most of his career against weak opposition who lacked power to hurt him/were weakened from near retirement/injury.

This was exposed when he stepped out of his wbo smw comfort zone facing weaklings in Cardiff. He easily got dropped within seconds of entering the ring by 40something LHWs who hadn't dropped anyone in years. Byron Mitchell exposed it in round 1 too, joe made the wrogn decision to face him too early but got saved by his Cardiff ref.

Not a great chin, but good enough for a certain level of opposition and certainly NOT a good defence, just southpaw awkwardness sufficient to bamboozle almost a decade consisting nearly entirely from limited, often non-contending opposition.

Toney counters him easily all day. He'd have fun doing it. He considers cowardzaghe an utter joke of a boxer, and you can see why though that's a little extreme, joe has some top qualities.

I do like Joe but a prime 168 pound Toney was in another class entirely. James would be too much.
