No way Toney can win this whatever shape he is in, sorry Toney fans

  2. Lennox Lewis would blast Toney out within 6 rounds and thats being generous, Toney can't punch worth a **** at heavyweight..and at 5-9 to damn short, and fat to compete with a big guy like LL..

    Lewis TKO 7

Toney wouldn't have any success with his stationary counterpunching style. Lewis would control him with the jab and set up openings for his right hand. Toney has a great chin, but Peter was rocking him when he'd hit him clean. Lewis hits much harder than Peter and he's more precise.

Just a terrible matchup for Toney

I think Lennox wins this one on reach alone.

    84" v. 72"

I don't think Toney could get close enough to tag Lennox much, and Toney doesn't have the power at HW (in my opinion) to hit Lennox on the chin and KO him.

Lennox by wide UD. 9-3 or 10-2.

And I'm not a hater, I like Toney. Just being realistic.

Ergh, you are being way too generous to Toney

How is he getting a round in this fight? Or more to the point, how is he not getting knocked out? Sam Peter DID hurt him, he can be knocked out at heavyweight despite his defence and chin

No short fat guys that were at their peak at around 168 in the history of the sport survive 12 rounds with Lennox Lewis, it's a horrible matchup

He had never pulled out of a fight at that time, so your point is irrelevant.

I see him taking a few rounds if Lennox decides to get up close (WAY CLOSE) early on and Toney uses his defense and counterpunching to steal a few.

I don't pick Toney to get KO'ed because I've never seen Toney KO'ed and while I strongly suspect that Lewis could do it, I can see Toney just surviving most of the fight with his defense.

Well Vitali had over 100 Kickboxing fights and I think over 100 Amatuer boxing matches, it causes a lot of wear and tear on a body and the guy has suffered from back and shoulder injurys, knee trouble etc. he left 8M on the table vs Rahman in what I feel would have been an easy fight for him, so I got believe it was a serious injury

Even as a Toney fan, he has absolutely no chance of victory here. None whatsoever.

Toney would show up fat, lay on the ropes, trash talk, and lose a decision. Lennox would paw him with his jab all night and respond to criticisms in the post fight interview, "A man is his most dangerous when he's hurt, definetly. " Toney would cry robbery and deny being knocked down in the third round by a jab.

I was interested to see Ruiz or Byrd face Lewis. I think Lewis avoided awkward fighters for a reason. Toney was awkward, but he fought flat footed, so I dont think he could have avoided Lewis righthand, but Toney might hang in there longer than a lot of people think. His chin was pretty good.

Lewis vs Ruiz would have been a spectacularly uninteresting fight.

Ruiz against anyone is spectacularly uninteresting, but I just wanted to see how Lewis would handle him, especially after he gave the quicker Holyfield fits and quite a few other better fighters.

Do you consider Ruiz a master boxer now  Come on whats Ruiz going to do better than Lewis in this fight? He has 1 weapon in the jab. And Lewis has a better jab, is faster and rangier. He has a shakey chin and is liable to being sparked

As for Byrd we saw him lose 26rounds out of 28 against Lewis lite.

Lewis didn't fight Byrd/Ruiz for 2 reasons 1 was money the 2nd was no one wanted to see it, not even their promoter Don King, which says it all
