To this day I hold it against Vitaly. It wasn't fair for Rahman who has been in limbo the entire time paying his staff, trainers, etc on the anticipation of future income to get left in the cold like that.

I think he meant PRIME Lewis v PRIME Toney.

I would give Toney about 10-20 % chance of going the distance.

This fight would be a total mismatch.... and not just because of size, even if they were closer in size id be picking Lewis.

James Toney is a master at defensive counter punching, but he is best suited for fighters that 'fall into him' and allow him to roll their punches and counter them to the head and body, even swarmers will find themselves picked apart with Toneys back against the ropes.

Lewis is too good, too smart, and in reality, too big for any of this, and with all that, he doesnt have the style that would favor Toneys rolling defence.

The key to this fight would be : Lewis's Jab.

It would be in toneys face and chest all night long, and would work wonders, Lewis would not fall into toney on the ropes, he would keep him at the end of his jab and would drop long rights on him.

In all truth i dont see Toney winning more then a few rounds, because despite all the disadvantages, James is still a great fighter at his best (near his prime) but Lewis is just too much, with the right kind of matchup style wise as well.

    Just IMO

No but I consider him frustrating as hell, just like he was for Holyfield, and many other fighters of the time. I got tired of watching Lewis knockout statues.

Lewis KOs Toney if Tony trys to go crazy on his body he gets whiped out in the same way Grant did. If Toney is uber cautious he could maybe pull off loosing on points but he jsut has no way of winning.

    :thumbsup

If a Lewis opponent is agressive And attacks him they are 100% gonna get KTFO - Lennox proved this when he destroyed Grant, Golota , Ruddock And Botha.
Frazier , Tyson And Bowe would all get KTFO if they went crazy on Lewis cos Lewis would go crazy back to them. Only Foreman can out-slugg Lewis. 5'9 feather-fisted midget Toney has 0% chance against Lennox. :deal

Lewis would have stopped Toney, either by a clean ko or a methodical, brutal tko.

Lewis embarrasses him much worse than Jones ever could. The second or third time Toney opens up... lights out, James. Lewis KTFO 3 Toney.

PRIME Toney weighed 160-168lbs, so I think if he did mean PRIME Toney then this is a DUMB thread.

I don't think that Toney has enough to keep Lewis off of him and once Lennox realizes that this fight might get ugly.. I see Lennox beating Toney either into submission via a ref stoppage of being knocked out clean in under 8 rounds..

I was a little unclear. Let me rephrase.

I think he meant the best HW version of Toney v the best HW version of Lewis.
    (Prime Lewis in his case.)

And I was responding to this observation:

This was HWT prime Toney against a very faded Holyfield.
