Prime for prime, I'd choose Toney to beat both of them in a very competitive fight.. If not in their prime, Hopkins beats both of them.. However, I have Hagler ahead in my ATG list..

I think prime/postprime joe calzaghe beats haggler, the 50smething one that he would dare to fight, that is.

by split decision life and death after getting knockdown by a fitysomething and being outboxed till old haggler gassed out in round 6. ie. The COWARDZAGHE way.

Agree, although I like JT better than both. It's crazy that he could beat someone like The Real Deal, but possible lose to X and Hagler.

The majority of his posts are about Calzaghe, even in threads that have nothing to do with Joe. It's a bit weird really.

I think Toney/Hagler would be a close fight. Both have iron chins, both very skilled fighters. I think Hagler fighting out of the southpaw stance could get countered by Toney's right hand but he could always switch to orthodox. But Hagler would almost certainly be the fitter, better conditioned fighter and could very well finish stronger and edge Toney on the scorecards.

I've always favoured Hopkins over Toney. Toney can be out boxed as he was for most of the fight with Nunn and with Jones Jr. Toney preferred fighters to come to him and he wasn't the most agile fighter, he wasn't and in and out fighter but usually just sat in the pocket, slipped and countered. Hopkins could move and counter and is defensively savvy enough to not be easily countered. I see Hopkins winning a close decision.

    I agree with this 100%

Head to Head I would favour Hagler over both.

And I believe Toney would beat Hopkins, although this one could go either way really.

    I agree with both.

I see Hagler using the ring a lot and trying to make Toney come after him and lead. Hagler had good movement, extremely well rounded, and had one of the ATG jabs.

I'm assuming we are taking the peak versions of each fighter at MW. Big difference between the Toney who fought McCallum in December 1991 than the one who faced Tiberi a couple months later.

Toney would be competitive with just about anyone but beating them is another story.
