A lot of people talk about James Toney the middleweight with Jackie and Bill behind him, specially after he KTFO Michael Nunn who came out of two impressive 1st round kayos against Patricio Sumbu Kalambay and Juan Domingo Roldan. But " Lights Out " met his match and the british/Irish fans don't have to go to Marvin or Bernard. Mike McCallum schooled Steve Collins fighting under the Petronellis brothers and from the same State Hagler came from and that was a gutsy performance from Stevo, one of the best of an european recently in the States along with McGuigan, forget Calzaghe, and for the ones who attented or watched live at Royal Albert Hall, McCallum tortured Michael Watson and made him fall in his next defense of the WBA MW title after Collins... He gave up the WBA title and in my opinion won the IBF MW version from Toney and his Team in a night Marvin was commentating.

Hopkins is just to dirty mobile and crafty for either fighter and he stands at 6'2 which means he can be rangy too. He'd be to slick for Hagler and to tall and rangy for Toney

Hagler being "relentless" is only half of the equation. He had one of the most powerful jabs in middleweight history and attacked the body with as much conviction as the head. His jab alone would be a huge hurdle for the faster, more explosive, but more inconsistent Toney and crafty, but low output fighter in Hopkins. With all due respect to Toney and Bhops, but Hagler has both for lunch. Hagler is Calzaghe, but with an iron chin, bigger punch, bigger jab, and killer instinct.

Toney has always struggled with fighters who are smart and keep the fight at distance, so Hopkins is just all wrong for him in so many ways.

Hagler has that educated jab to fight at range and do what Hopkins would, but not to the extent that the crafty Hopkins would do to Toney.

    Hopkins wins a wide decision.

    Hagler wins something like 116-112.

Toney schools both these no hopers

Hagler is so **** and overrated

The first round vs hearns was a 10-8 for hearns

Moron Hagler walked into punch after punch with his iron chin, he did buckle and get cut but luckily for him hearns broke his hand
And also very luckily for him hearns had a paper chin

Haggler almost lost to a past his prime Duran at hagglers peak
Beat paper chin hearns because hearns chin is paper
And an old washed up retired diva Leonard won their fight comfortably, it wasn't even close

Haggler did nothing and is no atg, just very lucky

Hopkins lost to Roy wouldn't go near toney or any tough fight

And got completely dismantled against B level slapper calzaghe

I've noticed you go off like this in a couple of threads. You really seem to have something against Hagler

    Pretty much this.

I could actually see a Hopkins utilizing his third fist and sending the fight to the cards early too.

Sugar Ray sat on the sidelines 5years and beat him. So Hopkins can beat him too!

A better question is how does Sergio Martinez do against them?

Not many will admit it but he'd give them all trouble.
