This is a fight I'd like to see just for entertainment reasons. Not all fights have to mean anything more than that. Besides, both these guys act like they still have something to prove. Let them prove it against each other.

This may cost too much for ESPN; and isn't big enough for SHO nor HBO. PPV is most likely, but only as a co-feature or undercard match. Anyway...

Michael Moorer always fights hard when his opponent rings his bell, but doesn't hit hard enough to knock him out. James Toney lays a lot of leather on everyone he faces besides Roy Jones, and isn't a puncher at heavyweight.
Moorer is 40 and may have lost his hand speed, but he once had well above average handspeed for a heavyweight. Though Moorer never hit above 200 like he did below, he could still bang a litte. Moorer also has good accuracy. Toney is still faster than most heavyweights. Toney is slick, but won't/can't run. Toney also has a great chin.

I would like to see what happens if they squared off.

    No response?

Come on; let's just discuss one thing in between Mayweather, Cotto, Hatton, Hopkins, and Calzaghe.

Michael Moorer easily, he was a hard hitter and handled the heavyweights pretty well. A very slick southpaw and bigger then Toney. He only had problems with big hitters such as George Foreman and David Tua, which is understandable. But with Toney, he will outbox him and can possibly knock him out. I mean James Toney lost to freaking Montell Griffin.

    Thanks so much for responding.

I did not mean for this to be a prime vs. prime thread. I meant now.

I don't see Moorer being slick enough to avoid enough of Toney's punches. Toney, imo, is slicker, has alright power (enough for Moorer), and has the better chin.

    Toney KO 10 Moorer

    Right now?

    Wow, good question.

Moorer has a questionable HW chin. But Toney does'nt have concussive KO power for a heavy.
Toney has a great chin. Moorer can really bang.

Very very even on could either guy KO the other.

I'd pick Toney purely on the fact that Toney always seems to want to win, Moorer seems to not quite have that in him.

But - if Toney's defence has slipped a bit, then he could be in trouble. Moorer had (has? don't know) good boxing ability, and a very good punch.

Moore would not KO Toney as a Lt. Heavy or Heavy. Don't play yourself.
