Lots of good points, it isn’t so much Toney just hitting hard that hurt some heavyweights but the oft forgotten “how” he was excellent in that regard.

It’s more interesting than that IMO Charles, Moore and Walcott were super intelligent, cagey fighters. Moore was absolutely more of a complete fighter then Toney… even at that stage he had plenty left to give, Moore aged like wine and Marciano displayed a lot of skill in that bout, you don’t catch Moore the way Rocky did without knowing your business, it’s a very competitive bout IMO.

He had filled out another 30ish lbs when he fought Holy & gained extra power/strength accordingly. For this scenario, he'd still be coming down to 190, where I don't think he hit even as hard as Moore, at least not w/ 1 punch.

His power was more akin to Chuvalo's than Marciano's - a solid puncher especially to the body, but not an explosive KO artist @the world class level. That was apparent from his previous fight w/ Jorge Castro, in which he hit another bloated ex-MW w/ everything but kitchen sink w/o scoring a KD, after Castro had already been sparked by Juan Carlos Gomez.

Moore was 41 years old with 170 professional fights coming into the fight with Marciano whilst i'll admit he was in good form coming into the fight, but he was still considerably past his prime at an advanced age Floyd Patterson easily disposed of Moore a year later in just 5 rounds for example.

Castro was only stopped twice in 144 fights he was extremely durable Gomez was also a huge Cruiserweight 6'3 with an 80 inch reach and fought at Heavyweight. For example Gomez was 230 pounds when he fought Vitali Klitschko, so more than likely when he rehydrated at Cruiserweight he was probably close to 200 pound limit being bigger than pretty much all of Marciano's opponents who were considered world class.
