How will he not "test Toney's lazy feet"? I don't care who you are; it isn't a good plan to stand in front of Marciano and not move your feet... Marciano will test his "lazy feet" and simultaneously test his "ATG chin".
Toney has problems with movers that's when his poor feet are tested. Guys who come straight forward are right down is alley. He can sit in the pocket like no one else and go to work. Toney is one of the most natural fighters ever IMHO and Marciano was outboxed for long periods in some fights. Lets be clear, i'm not saying Toney would beat Marciano, but he would have a better chance with him then some of the other greats.
I'm with you on having a measure of success, but like I said previously, he is eventually reduced to trying to survive. He won't be going first, and you can't give Marciano that kind of authority.
Again, you are only insisting on Marciano's strenghts yet keep ignoring Toney's durability, chin, technique, ability to fight on the inside. As for Jirov-Marciano, I merely referred to the fact that both are agressive volume fighters. As for stating that conditioning would be Toney' sdownfall, keep in mind that at his best Toney usesd to get stronger as the fight progresses.
It is not a good plan to fight in the pocket against Toney either. Toney may be the best fighter ever to fight in the pocket, he masters that aspect of the game even better than the fighters of the 40's. Add to that Toney's durability, ATG chin. That is a tough combination even for Marciano.
Then show me. It´s the third time I ask you to show me where Toney was better than Walcott, like you claimed.
As previously stated:"Toney was better at standing in front of you, making you miss and making you pay with pin point accurate shots.Toney also has the edge in technique and was clearly more apt at fighting in the pocket.Toney learnt from these guys an then improved these aspects of their game. Now, of course, these guys mastered other aspects of the game that Toney never did. (e.g terms of feinting to set up a particluar punch using more lateral movement)"
Are you deaf? I wrote before that I don´t see what you described and that you should show me, not explain, show.
I will not bother to show you anything what is obvious to any knowledgable boxing fan. Go find some tapes of both fighters and compare their technique and inside fighting abilities.
Actually, there are some folks who agree. And besides, I see people disputing that Toney would win but not that Toney has superior skills in terms of infighting and technique.
Read again, because there are. And no, there is none who agreed with you that Toney is more skilled than Walcott. Simply because he isn´t.
I only was debating with you on the comparison of Toney-Walcott. I stated that Toney mastered certain aspects of the game better (e.g. inside fighting). I stand by that no matter what anybody here believes.
