I have watched the fight 2 times on TV, and once on youtube without sound. Here's my score:

Round 1: Toney - Toney outjabbed Peter and landed a couple nice right hands too
Round 2: Toney - Toney landed some jabs and some good right hands, Peter landed two good right hands, some glancing blows and some (illegal) rabbit punches to the back of the head.
Round 3: Toney - Toney again landed some jabs and counter right hands, Peter brawled a lot but only connected with 3 clean punches
Round 4: Peter - Toney landed a couple of jabs, Peter was more active but didn't land anything of note
Round 5: Peter - Peter hurt Toney (with a rabbit punch to the back of the head...)
Round 6: Toney - more holding & hitting by Peter, but Toney scores nice counter right hands and a few good left hooks too
Round 7: Toney - Toney slips and ducks nearly all of Peters punches while landing jabs and counter right hands
Round 8: Peter - close round, both men land big right hands
Round 9: Toney - Peter throws wild and is missing, he's not landing a single clean punch. Toney scores some more counter right hands. Peter gets deducted a point for rabbit punching.
Round 10: Peter - good action-filled round as both men trade and land big shots
Round 11: Toney - not much action, Peter is more active but lands literally nothing of note, Toney lands very few but clean shots
Round 12: Toney - Peter is more active but misses a lot, Toney sneaks in some counter right hands.

That's 8 rds to 4 for Toney, together with the point deduction the score is 116-111 for Toney. Even if you gave the last two rds to Peter, it would still be 114-113 for Toney. Rounds 8 and 10 were very close, I gave them both to Peter so you can't say that I'm biased. There's no way one can score this fight for Peter.

I's true that Peter may have been the more active fighter, he did indeed throw a lot of leather, but 90% of that missed, or connected to Toneys shoulders, arms and chest (and a lot of the other punches were illegal rabbit punches to the back of Toneys head). Compubox may have counted these blows when in reality these punches don't count, same as with punches that connect to the guard don't count, simple as that. Toney clearly landed more cleaner punches. Peter may also be the more powerfull puncher, but what's that worth when he misses his punches or can't hurt Toney with them?

I had it toney 115-112. That said, it ain't no robbery as many Toney nut huggers have been trying to convince me.

8-4 JT. And it's a very CLEAR 8-4. No way you can have Peter winning that fight.

You contradicted yourself right there. Your scoring is ok. I give you a lot of credit for actually making the effort of watching the fight (again?) and scoring it. Many of those who maintain that Peter won didn't even watch the fight.

I find it interesting that of those who voted for Peter on the poll nobody has posted his reasons for doing so yet. Could it be that some of them didn't even see the fight?

It could have went either way. There were too many close rounds to say either man won clearly or decisively. Good fight, though. Probably won of the most underrated fights in recent times.
