James Toney vs. Sam Peter I

It was a hard fight to score too many close rounds and both were fat slobs.

Toney probably won the fight.

In the end it is pointless because of what VitKlit did to Peter.

 

i had it 9 rounds to 3 for Peter minus the point deduction, final score 116-111 for Peter. Same as 2 of the judges.

 

Also made pointless by the Peter-Toney rematch.

 

I thought it was a near robbery. Toney clear UD.

 

you said you're going to rewatch the fight and post a round by round score sometime ago.

 

I'm not having a dig at you Rico, honest question - which fighters do you like? It would be cool to hear you say something positive! We know you hate the Glass Jaws, fair enough, but which fighters are you a fan of or who do you rate highly?

 

Toney won that fight based on ring generalship and clean punching.
In addition, Toney outjabbed his bigger and taller opponent.
After James made the appropriate adjustments, Peter had a hard time landing a clean blow on Toney.

Watch it again.

 

Which obviously shows how much you know about scoring fights.

 

If you want to hear something positive I thought Chad Dawson looked good in his last fight Hopkins also.

Toney won by a landslide but the judges were so drunk!

 

I did a very long thread with compubox numbers on that fight back in the day.
I watched that fight over 10 times, ALL the times I had it the same.

Toney won.

 

Toney by 1 point on my card.

 

Easily Toney...just as the rematch was easily Peter.

 

I don't need to watch it again because I've seen the fight enough times to know it was a close fight that could have easily been scored a draw, if not a close win for either fighter. And Peter landed plenty of hard shots on Toney. There were at least 3 points in that fight where he had Toney stunned.
