Does anyone else remember this fight? I saw it years ago and remember it was a very good scrap. From memory Littles outboxed Toney for the first couple of rounds and even stunned Toney at one point. Toney also got a bad cut which was going to cause the fight to be stopped after another round, but James managed to save the day (and his title) with a dramatic KO. I haven't heard this fight mentioned much when James Toney is discussed but it really showcased his ability to deal with adversity, maybe even more than the Nunn fight. And if anyone has any information on Tim Littles it would be appreciated,as I thought he looked pretty good in this and his rematch with Frankie Liles was a ripper also.
Thanks for that:good It played out a bit different to how I remembered it but Littles did do well to win the first two rounds and his speed seemed to bother James somewhat. Still it's a good fight and a gutsy win for James which doesn't get mentioned very often.
Hey, that was a good fight. Both fighters showed a lot interesting techniques. Toney was Toney, but I haven't seen Littles fight before and I like how he moves his right hand from either side of his face to parry. Edit: Just finished watching... I think that was actually a pretty great fight. The two fighters looked very, very well trained in there, head movement, and their reactions to everything. Nice, tense technical match up early on before the Toney went to finish things, and Little went for survival like a wounded animal. Man Toney, you were so awesome....
