Yeah. Fantastic fighter. Heavyweight was a bridge to far IMO.

Fury, Usyk, Wilder, Joyce and AJ beat him easily.

I'd give the Toney from Holyfield and Ruiz fights the favorite against the rest if we are talking right now.

I'd favor Ortiz from a few years ago over him but probably not today's version.

    Usyk UD
    Fury UD

both guys too good with their legs for Tony.

gets interesting after that. I can see Tony beating Whyte and Wilder. Whyte’s chin is average and he can be countered. He’s not as good as Sam Peter and Toney nearly beat him in the first fight. Wilder if he stays away his length is a problem but he’s not exactly accurate with his lead hand and could be countered.
Honestly a case could be made for everyone in the top 10 except the top 2. I would clearly pick AJ pre Ruiz bout right now though 50/50 at best

Hrgovic would not struggle against Toney. Just because he had a tough fight against 280lb 6'6 Zhang.

Toney is not countering Wilder with his pidgeon steps and shoulder rolls. Totally wrong style.

Shorter slower fighters or shot fighters toney beats. Not SHWs with decent physical gifts.

Yet Toney is the only man to stop Holyfield other than Bowe who fought a sick Holyfield with a Hepatitis.

Yes he was but the question is was Holyfield ever stopped again after fighting Toney ? And he fought on for quite a long time after the stoppage loss to Toney.

Toney beat a SHOT 40 year old version of Hollifield who was coming off a loss to Chris Byrd and another loss to Larry Donald. Evander would go on to lose to much lower quality and unknown fighters as he tried to cash in on his name. He literally never fought another prime or ranked HW again. If you want to use Toneys victory over that version of Evander, go ahead. Knock yourself out.

Top ten modern HWs would destroy anyone Evander fought after the Toney fight. Heck, after the Ruiz fights. Evander was shot and his opponents were often more shot. Toney knocking out a shot 40 year old Evander is a weak argument for how he would do against modern HWs.

But the fact is Holyfield was never stopped again and he fought on for many years, i don't think anyone is disputing that Holyfield wasn't past his best. But the fact that Toney managed to be only the 2nd man to ever stop Holyfield, taking into the account that Toney's best weight class was Middleweight/Super Middleweight is still somewhat impressive. Considering Holyfield's only other stoppage loss was vs Bowe in which he was sick with Hepatitis.

Holyfield 5 years later after the Toney loss shoud've been the oldest Heavyweight champion in history, after losing a highly dubious decision to Valuev that many thought he won.

Great logic. One shot old man beats up another shot old man. This means the less shot guy would have beaten modern HWs because no one else ever knocked out the original shot opponent. Makes sense!
