How do you think this would go down?

I think Toney catches him at some point between 6 and 12.

Hearns would be ahead on the carda at the time.

Great Matchup, I would agree with Phil.

Eventualley Toney gets the distance and times a counter on the ever closing Hearns.

Hearns will be winning but would oblige a shootout with Toney at some point Mid rounds. Toney will be able to roll with the massive power of Hearns, the only thing that will trouble Toney is the Hooks to the body, And that is what will draw Hearns in.

As see Toney winning by KO, or at least taking control from Tommy from mid rounds on.

Fantastic match-up. If Hearns wins, it will be by staying far away form Toney, and Jabbing to a win. I just think Tommy will look for the KO and get caught.

I agree with this. And it's true that the success he'd have with the hook to the body would be his downfall.

If Hearns could of taken the attitude of Kovalev to the Hagler fight he could of won on points and also he could outpoint Toney.

Funny thing about Kovalev is he could of stopped Hopkins, but he didn't wanna gamble. Hearns always did!

Most likely outcome: Toney gets outworked early on but eventually walks Hearns into some hook counters. Gets the stoppage or ends up dominating the rest of the right to win on points.

Hearns was so much better and more reliable in and around 160... Sanderline Williams, Tiberi, Johnson , Nunn him for 10 rounds... All those guys found the way and none were as good as Hearns.

I'm going with Tommy in 12.

Nunn and Reggie Johnson were both better than Hearns at 160.

Hearns was more reliable than Toney (when he wasn't getting his chin checked) but I assumed this was about them at their best.

I really like Toney here. TKO the second half of the fight.

First off, he isn't going anywhere if he gets hit. And he'll stay in the pocket and fire back a counter while tommy stands there admiring his work.

The other big factor is I think this would be one of those bouts where Toney is definately at 100% because he would want to prove who the best 160 pounder is. Can you imagine that Toney grin/taunting once he knows he has Hearns right where he wants him?

Tommy's legs are not going to be good the 2nd half of the fight. They turn into stilts. He'll get moved with Toney's punches more and more as the fight goes on. And spend his time trying to reset that balance. That balance will be there early but it won't be by the 7th round.
