There was never a day in his life he would have had a chancde against either one.

He doesn't (and never did) have the power to keep either one off him. Wlad starts slow and cautiously, but eventually lands enough jabs (power punches from Toney's point of view) to wear him down and then goes in for the kill in the mid to late rounds.

Vitali just beats the daylights out of him from the opening bell, and it all ends pretty quickly.

Toney has won belts at MW, SMW and cruiser, and should be ranked higher than either Klitschko.

But head to head, it's a mismatch.

Vitali didn't come close to knocking out Areola so I don't know why people think he would spark Toney.

    Arreola was TKO'd.

And the KO was right around the corner.

His corner knew it and spared him the humiliation.

You need to watch it again.

Yeah and Hatton was gonna knock out Malignaggi too, right?

TKO and a KO aren't the same obviously. Arreola didn't show any indication of going down, but he was taking a beating, and thats why his corner stopped it. Up until the last seconds of round 10, Arreola was still keeping the pressure, blocking and throwing punches.

Maybe its YOU who should watch the fight again?

I get the feeling Toney will never get in the ring with either Klitschko. Id like see it just for the hell of it TBH. I would not pick Toney but id like to see him in there with one of em.

WTF has Hatton/Malinaggi got to do with it ?

It was pretty ****in' clear that if round 9 had gone a minute longer, Arreola was getting stopped.

He probably wasn't taking a ten count, but stopped none the less.

And when a fighter or his corner stops the action, as in Peter or Arreola's case, that's the same as a KO.

It means they can't continue and that A KO is on its way.

Vitali would absolutely drill toney into oblivion, it would be a total mismatch and an injustice to the legacy of Toney. He should learn from Tyson's experience and quite while ahead.

it took vitali 8,9. 10 rounds to make guys quit in his last 3 fights , not knocking them out...even at toneys age, he IS NOT knocking him out...sorry....toney still too slick...vitali will win....but he will look like ****, well more shitty than he already has been looking (if thats possible)

    Your biases are showing.

His performance at 38 against a much younger (27-0-0, 24KOs) Arreola was masterful.

He methodically broke him down and stopped him, despite the big lad's pressure.

Same with Peter a few months earlier, after a four year layoff. He beat Sam during the staredown.

And Sam was not easily intimidated.

Neither guy was Muhamad Ali, but both were near the top of the non-Klitschko heap.

Toney is outta there quicker than either of them.
