Toney will not fight for $200 000 in a UFC event, he will won't a cut of the PPV, like $11 to $15 for ever PPV sold and that will not happen, there is no way White will that cat out of the bag, a It could open the flood gates, with all the big stars in the UFC won'ting this deal, Toney is old and lazy with training, If white has a brain cell he will give toney a wide birth, The guy is a lose cannon and there is zero chance of white controlling him

    I say, make it happen...
Lesnar vs Toney. (imo it would be the safest bet because i doubt Lesnar would be dumb enough to try to ko a pro boxer like Sylvia wanted to do lol )...

The safest bet against a boxer is to put a wrestler in front of him...If the wrestler isn't a wannabe ko artist...He'll just instantly go for the takedown and finish him in the first or 2nd or simply by ud.

ever since Mercer kayoed Sylvia, White wants no part of boxers against mma guys. he doesnt want anyone to get any ideas that boxers are superior strikers.

No need to avoid them, because they are too busy fighting with unknown Kevin Johnson’s of the world.

which is plain ****ing dumb...because we all know they are...The real problem is how can someone be ******ed enough to test his striking skills against a pro boxer ? (no matter the age)...

Sylvia is an embarrassment really...All he had to do , was to avoid the stand up , play it safe...take the old man on the ground and finish him there...Originally , he actually wanted to fight mercer under boxing rules.. what a ****ing moron.

Just imagine for a second..if someone like briggs or toney would try to prove a point , by submitting a top grappler ? how foolish would that be ?...You gotta stick to what you're good at.

MMA just gives you the opportunity to use what you know best to your advantage...and in sylvia's case..it wasn't boxing. Imagine Toney pulling a gogoplata on a guy like werdum or nogueira :rofl Now THAT would be the ultimate humiliation for the entire ****ing sport.

If Toney ends up fighting in the ufc...whether he loses or wins...it still won't prove anything..because it's how you win that makes the difference. If toney only needs his boxing to beat everyone...it'll prove that his opponents are just plain ****ing dumb..

And you know what ? i wouldn't be surprised if it happens...at least against 2 or 3 guys... it's very possible , take Forest Griffin vs Anderson Silva for example... When you see the fight , you have to wonder.. Is he ******ed ? ...absolutely deluded ? or is the fight fixed ?... He had many different options to beat anderson , and yet he only wanted to strike and beat anderson at his own game.

(though to be honest , it still wouldn't have made much of a difference on the ground because anderson's bjj is also pretty solid)

Wlad's next opponent is Chambers....it's a legit & logical opponent imo.
(though he should've fought Povetkin instead...)

I saw the interview with Toney interrupting and being annoying with Dana White. He called himself the "heavyweight champ" wtf and said a fight with him in the UFC would be the biggest fight ever....wtf? Toney needs to go crawl under a rock somewhere. He is played out and annoying. When was the last time he beat up anyone worth a damn?

How the hell do you know that he didnt plan to go for take down. Fight lasted something like 7 seconds and Sylvia didnt have time to execute his plan.

He originally wanted to fight under boxing rules...but they wouldn't allow it. (i don't remember the reason)....They allowed it under mma rules...but Sylvia was only looking to Ko mercer.

Sylvia wanted to prove a point...

After they changed the rule set, Mercer asked if Sylvia would make a gentleman agreement and fight with fists anyway. Sylvia refused.

Sylvia also landed kick in Mercers leg in the start, so he definatly was not planing to fight Mercer only at hes own game.

7 seconds is a very short time to determine someones gameplan.

He probably was... Of course, he probably would've tried "something else"...(in case mercer's striking would've been too much for him)...But he didn't have the time to do anything anyway...

Same thing happened with Fedor...(only that one lasted 36 seconds)
The guy thinks he can outstrike anyone because it worked for so long in the ufc...

And he's often been confronted to smaller opponents (with a few exceptions)...who weren't strikers at all..

For instance he beat Jeff Monson...(yet Monson is way more skilled than sylvia is)... But Monson is a wrestler..and sylvia was basically using his weight advantage each time the other guy wanted to get him on the ground...

The only striker sylvia was ever confronted to (back when he was still in the ufc)..was Arlovski. (and here again , arlovski is way more skilled)...

Sylvia is pretty dumb imo. I don't know if it's arrogance , pride or whatever...but some of his gameplans are ridiculous. (and yet they work but mostly because of his size & reach advantage).

    Another thing to note:

Sylvia was weighting 310 lbs for the Mercer fight.

(sylvia usually fights at 260 lbs)

he definitely would need to get used to being more squared or anyone would take him down. He's a very physically strong guy with great balance when he wants to use it. So he could develop some mediocre takedown defense. Fairly certain he could sprawl fairly nicely if he needed to.
