Love him still. Never scared of anyone. For all his trash talk and thug persona,he was the ultimate pro in the ring. Never a dirty fighter.

Drug cheat with a mouth full of ****.TBH i think some of his wins were overrated after his middle/super middleweight fights, but he was good then, but no better than the 80s middleweight greats. But people are lording him up way too much on here which is bull****.

Key word, beat. Despite 3 KD's, 2 of which should have been ruled fouls. Wlad beat Peter, pretty clearly at that. Vitali made Peter quit, the 1st to stop him. Wlad later brutally KO'd him. Go after my avatar all you want, the Klitschko's have no bearing on the fact that JT is overrated and a proven drug cheat.

Roided up Toney couldn't do **** to Peter over 24 rounds. He was so slick that Peter knocked him down with a jab.

Yeah a natural 160/168lb fighter struggled with a big heavy....i'm shocked. Tell me again why didn't Vitali get to go to the olympics? :think

respect for you for giving respect to Toney when you have Jirov for your avi.

James Toney is def in my top three fav fighters of all time. his style was straight up class and ill tell anyone like ive told people around me, i could watch Toney box all day long. i could imagine if a young hungry fighter with his style was around today.

Toney was a great fighter in the early 90's as a MW and SMW, however his lack of dedication and discipline caught up to him, I wouldn't call him a busted flush but he certainly wasted his talent. There's a reason Floyd Mayweather has been at the top of the game for so long, it's not just because of talent and good fortune, it's because of his incredible work ethic. Even James Toney himself would tell you he didn't have that same dedication

This needed to be quoted so everyone could laugh at you again. Surely you're not being serious :rofl:patsch

A very talented fighter, who unfortunately did not have the discipline to fulfill his true potential. Still he had a top run from mw-smw.
McCallum-Toney I is my fav Toney fight

    off topic:
Hopkins reminded me of Toney when he was fighting off the ropes against Cloud

Yeah, because being able to train twice as often and intense is not going to make you a better boxer..
