Just because one blind judge had wrong guy ahead dosent make it life and death battle. Batchelder did nothing but run away and tap jab in air and Toneys shoulder.

JT was too inactive but scored all the real shots in the fight. I had it 98-92 for Toney.
Toney also beat world top-10 ranked Rahman and Oquendo (would have beaten Thompson, if he wouldnt have duck Toney in the last minute.) after that match

 

He looks good, I'd like to see him in the ring at this weight, been a long time, it would be interesting, put him in with dave haye.

 

i presume you mean Damon Reed? He lost a challenge for the WBU CW title back in 2000, so that doesn't count. I'm a Toney fan but that Reed is a pure journeyman who should never have lasted the distance...

 

Great news ..Come on Lights out make one more run hopefully we can get a Hopkins Toney match before they hang them up ...

 

Actually he challenged WBO heavyweight championship from Herbie Hide back in the day. He had a great record back then too.

Anyway he run away from Toney all night long, so it was hard for Toney to finish him off. I guess after cathing couple of counter shots, he decided he wasnt going to trade with Toney.

Also Toney wanted to get some rounds, so he didn’t press the KO in early rounds.

Doesn't really matter at this point. He's shot to hell regardless of what weight he's at.

Yeah well Hide was a hard hitter. Styles makes the fights.

Toney won every second of every round, while Reed run and tried to survive against counter puncher.
