Idk, Ortiz aside (and how limited his own provenness is) Wilder's resume is pretty much either mediocre or losses... Entertaining, successful in his own way (he'll retire rich) but it's not special at all really, is it? Usyks done more in far less fights - just in the AJ fights or Fury fights alone, nevermind together... And if we're honest, even Chisora would be in Wilders top 3 (and stylistically would've been difficult - he might well have won)
Easy with the Butt Hurt pal. All I did was write a two sentence response agreeing with Toney’s quote. You go on this long winded post attacking me and quoting other poster’s assessment of Wilder. Here’s the quote - he says he failed, and was a one trick Poney, I agree. Doesn’t say he’s a failure. Just he failed when he stepped up. "Deontay Wilder and that bombbull****. Everybody was believing in that. I told everyone look who he’sfighting. He fighting bums. If I wasfighting them I would have all fights by knockout. The guys he fought I would’ve knocked out in two, three rounds too. They built him up right and then when it was time to comethrough, he failed. He wasn’t ready. It’s sad seeing what happen to him but it is what it is. Deontay was a one-trickpony.”
Butt hurt ? You didn't see the "I'm not a fan of Wilder" bit ? You haven't seen my many posts on Wilder over the years, very few complimentary ? 46 words is long-winded for you ? Short attention span ? Your response was almost three times as long as the one you responded to. What's wrong with that ? The @kirk post was germane and spot on. why would I type it all again. A bit of logic missing there, LC. Here's what you're saying: "he says he failed...I agree....Doesn’t say he’s a failure." That's the definition of a failure, one who fails. You could search my posts using the word Wilder. I am definitely NOT a Wilder fan , but I have to respect what he did with what limited talent he had. Credit where credit is due, LC. James Toney should have more class than to pish all over a fellow boxer. But at least Toney himself had a resume of success, and so was in a position to make criticism.
Lewis was really a North American though because he learned to box as a kid in Canada and came from the American old school of boxing.
I certainly would not Define Wilder as a failure, he has achieved what very very few boxers have, relatively speaking. But seeing as this is coming from James Toney, I can understand it. JT was a supremely skilled fighter and those guys are usually tough critics.
Should’ve retired after the third Wilder fight. He was never the same after that. Very odd how the same people who swear a 34 year old Joshua has aged significantly also insist Wilder was never better at 38 following two back to back brutal beatdowns and viscous knock outs.
Insult Calzaghe all you want but forget Jeff Lacy. Calzaghe easily beat all world class challengers he ever faced. Hopkins was the cherry on top.
