    A savvy observation.

    I couldn't say Floyd has dazzled any more than Toney did against Barkley or McCallum - both great examples of defence and offence.

    Sure it is. :lol::lol:

    I mean the guy was a career Middleweight and went all the way to HEAVYWEIGHT without getting stopped!

    Such an overrated defence. :roll:

    Dedication and work ethic wouldn't fix Toney's cement feet. The main differences in his career would be a possible brief run as a light heavy beltholder and another brief run as a heavyweight titlist. He'd still lose the majority of the fights he lost.

    With Floyd's dedication, Toney would have been a Top 10 ATG.

    As far as legacy. Toney still ranks above Floyd.

    - Beating GGG would be the equivalent of beating Jirov (+30 pounds abive middleweight.

    - Having Beat Hopkins would be the equivalent of beating holyfield.

    Floyd still has some work to do :deal

    I think the brain damage is from all the sparring, he's known to just spar all the time. That's how Terry Norris apparently got brain-damaged too.

    It's not like he was born with those defensive moves, he learned them through practice, and in doing so, most likely took a lot of hits to the head.

    That's why I'm not surprised when fighters known for defense end up with brain trauma. It's not just the fights in which they take blows to the head, and no matter how "naturally gifted" you are, you're going to take a lot of blows to the head if you have a long career in the paid ranks and in the gym.
