James Toney won by decision.

That is per some "tweets", so it still needs to be confirmed by the boxing sites.

Twitter is the only source of information on the fight since it wound up not being televised on FSN as advertised.

One of the people tweeting was doing so from ringside, however - and uploaded a couple of brief clips of video taken with their cellphone.

Oh, and it seems this was only scheduled for 10 rounds - not 12 as listed on Boxrec.

 

It is worth noting that Toney supposedly made only $5,000 for this bout - and earlier today he called out retired NFL player (and current radio co-host of Max Kellerman on Los Angeles' KSPN) Marcellus Wiley for an MMA match.

It could be that James sees MMA as the more lucrative career choice now even though he sucks at it, and plans to just cash in on his name in that sport instead of taking boxing the least bit seriously (since he can automatically headline in MMA as a circus sideshow act, whereas in boxing he'd have to pay his dues and work his way up on small cards to get back to a big payday). That would explain his weight...and being unable to finish a tomato can like Reed.

 

He probably doesn't want to fight the Klitschkos anymore.

After this, he is probably done with boxing IMO. Too little payoff per effort.

He's going to just keep embarrassing himself to turn a quick buck in mixed martial arts.

 

OK...Toney must have made a little more than $5k, as Reed reportedly got paid $7500. No way in hell did Dangerous Damon earn more than even this disgraced version of Lights Out.

Still, it was probably a smaller purse than he'll get for taking dives in the UFC.

 

Well, it was a clean sweep - 100-90 on all the cards.

“I'm ready to fight for the title,” said Toney. “I'll fight anybody.”
