From my research his world titles included: Middleweight Super Middleweight Light heavyweight 4 time Cruserweight Heavyweight 8 time world champion in 5 divisions. You never hear about this though, why?
I'm a big James Toney fan, but he's not an 8 times world champ in 5 division. He never won one of the important belts at HW, because he got caught for banned substance against Ruiz. At LHW, he only won secondary straps. He was a legitimate MW, SMW and CW champ... You get my point, I think you included too many alphabet titles that were on his résumé. What he's done is still impressive and he's one of the guy I'll never get tired of watching his fights. However, the PEDs issue really tarnished his reputation.
My favorite Toney moment is after the first Peter fight, when rightfully complaining about how he should have gotten the decision, he backs the claim up with this little bit of empirical evidence: "I'm not cut or anything like that, I'm not bruised up. He cut, he busted up, everything! How the hell you win a fight when you looking like a God damn monster?! Looking like Larry Holmes, ugly as hell and ****." This content is protected G
