Hey guys, its great to be entering a forum like this. Recently (since the end of last year), because of uni work I haven't being following boxing no where as much as I used too. I have just got a job where there will be plenty of time in the day to have access to a tv with a dvd. I have around 8 boxing dvd career sets and am looking for another one (preferably long) for work. I was considering James Toney. I have seen his fight with Jones, Jirov, Barkley, Nunn and Holyfield as well as a number of clips.

Looking through his resume there are plenty of guys that I recognise as solid fighters at 160-175 in his prime that he fought. For those who have seen much of Toney, in his prime I'm talking about not the current heavyweight version, would you say its a worthy purchase? Did he have many good, competitive fights or is his career filled of Barkley like domination's? And while I recognise plenty of name on his resume, how good exactly was his resume? I know how solid his win over Nunn was, but if I get his career will I often be watching him fight the elite of his division, or just fringe contenders?

    Thanks a lot :thumbsup

Ah a true newbie or maybe a vet posing as a noob . Either way I didn't read Your full text about James Toney all I had to see you was the name for the thread to grab my attention reasons being that James Toney in my opinion was one of the greatest wasted talent ever he had so much potential but yet didn't really measure up. a true version of a slickster I truly loved it when he whipped Holyfield's ass
