I am actually arguing about Williams on another forum right now. The only thing about it is after the Maske fight he went 4-2-1 including the Toney fight and than retired. Hardly a world beater in my opinion, but still a decent win.
Watch it. Second best cruiser weight title fight in my opinion and I was lucky enough to be ringside for it. Excellent fight!
Yeah he came to fight against Toney and the ending was probably one of the most spectacular Ko's Ive ever seen. Williams crumbled like a building.
That could certainly be argued a win for Toney, though I wouldn't agree. I had McCallum winning by a point and thought a draw was a fair decision. It depends very much on how much weight you give Toney's power punching in comparison too McCallums more consistent work behind the jab. Terefore I can see this fight being scored in different ways. But those who think Toney won clearly should also have Norton winning against Holmes. For me this was a very close fight with no clear winner. A draw and a rematch was the right thing imo. If only that rematch had been scored even close to correctly...
toney-littles fights was crazy to me..tim was very close to becoming the first man to stop toney...toney had some bad cuts and the doctor was only giving him one more round...so toney threw all that boxing **** out the window..went out like a man possessed and obliterated tim in the 4th round..good stuff
Toney almost had him in the 3rd. Another 20 or 30 seconds and he would have put him away. Fun fight though!
Toney was hurt very badly against Reggie Johnson, which is crazy because he seemed to have an iron chin as he moved up in weight, fighting some of the biggest punchers. Toney killed himself to make weight and that probably factored into him getting hit and hurt more at the lower weights.
That, and it isn't as easy to see the punches coming. He still recovered pretty well in my opinion. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFjQAgLDQ1w[/ame]
yeah that tiberi fight was a good example of the weight draining he was doing...at the end of that fight is toney is absolutely reeling ready to pass out
yeah 217lb toney that fought holyfield is a problem for any heavyweight right now because of his style.
