Every one knows that Haye is going to stay away from Toney. Fighting Toney at this point would be much too risky for him. Haye is looking for a much easier option such as Makaev or Rahman.
ok, serious question then..if, and its a big if...haye signs to fight toney...and beats him clearly, either by ko or lopsided ud..where does that put him at hw after only two fights....??...
if Haye would beat Toney that clearly, it would make him a serious HW contenter, a top contender for any of the belts, not more not less. However, with the Toney-Rahman II decision being overruled to a no-contest, Toney is not ranked in any of the sanctioning bodies, so that makes a Haye-Toney fight even less possible...
fighting Toney would be worse then Haye fighting Holyfield.....that big gut ******* is 2 6-pieces away from a heart attack, Haye gains nothing from knocking his fat ass out........and truthfully Toney knows that it's Hayematrix time so he just wants a piece of the check
Toney needs to prove he can beat Danny Batchelder first. I know the heavyweight division is weak but Toney and Rahman are NOT real legit top 10 contenders. They are has-beens, and they weren't exactly amazing heavyweights to start with. Washed-up fat old clowns.
If Toney can change his fight style and put pressure on David Haye, I think this fight would be interesting. For a guy that talks a lot of crap, Haye doesn't handle pressure fighters well. But, If JT elects to fight in his usual counterpunch style, he will get KTFO'd.
WTF are you talking ? Of course a victory benefits Haye, James Toney is Hall o Famer who only lost to Peter at heavyweight and that only after losing a very controversial decision the first time. I do not see your point.
This fight would be a total waste of Hayes time. He should be fighting real heavyweights to get used to the size. Not beating up on fat steroid abusing middleweights who are a decade past their prime.
Toney is old....shot, smaller, and no KO power and on top of that he's not a natural heavyweight he's just blown up, or fat if you will...which means that beating him would answer ZERO questions about how Haye would do against a heavyweight contender, it's common sense that he wouldn't get much credit for beating him.....
James Toney progressing, i believe James Toney will get down to 215 and if he gets in that condition and shape, the old school master i believe will be able to beat David Haye. He is a freak in shape or out of shape, James Toney does not get tired, he is a natural fighter, with natural fighting endurance.
Well, a victory against Toney in 2003 just after the Holyfield fight would certainly have been more significant, nevertheless a victory over the current Toney still means a hell lot. Being short, fat and old, Toney was able to hold his own against the top heavyweights. He arguably outboxed the second best heavyweight in the world Samuel Peter. Larry Holmes was also old and fat in the earyl 90's, so beating him does not mean anything?? You see your arguments do not hold up at all.
Why does Haye need to fight Toney? Cos Toney is running his trashy mouth? Haye can pick his opponent just now, he is the attraction. Toneys going after the only money there is in the HW division Haye and Klit. They will decide if they want to fight him.
