huh, that post confused me...who has Toney in there top10?....i'm 100% sure that toney isn't even in the top 20 of the WBO, IBF, WBC, or the WBA....i mean, you keep saying how Toney's been able to keep up, and hold his own, at the end of the day.....he hasn't beating anyone worth mentioning at heavyweight has he?, like foreal who was the last person he beat? because i dont even know, i'll have to check and see just to figure it out.....Toney's career is done, and i keep saying he isn't a natural heavyweight, because Haye would be given no credit for fighting him, when he wins most people would just say "so what Toney wasnt even a real heavyweight, so that doesn't prove he can compete with the real heavyweights like Peter, Wlad, Povetkin, Ibragimov, etc." either that or they'd just say "Toney was shot and out of shape, he was expected to be him", you feel me?.......Toney's at the end of his career just looking for a couple of more big pay days, he no's he cant win, thats probably why Haye hasn't said anything.......like honestly, Toney cant out box him, and he cant out bang him....the most he could do is survive for 12 rounds to lose a decision.....Haye moving up to heavy and fighting Toney is like Pac moving up to 140 to fight Ben Tackie, it's simply a no-to-low reward fight for Haye
I understand your point of view, but I do no it see it exactly the same way. I think you are underating Toney a little a bit. In fact, it is more rewarding for Haye to fight a Peter, Valuev or a Chagaev or Klitschko. But those fighters are not available for November and remember this only Haye's first fight at heavyweight. It is however disputable if a fight with Ibrahimogov, Povetkin, Laykovitsch is more rewarding than a Toney fight. I mean those guys do not have a better record at heavyweight than Toney. Also, the Haye-Toney is a fight for the fans and would catch the eyes of the media.
I have to strongly disagree here - wtf no reward for Haye????? Have you even followed the game in the last 10,15 years??? Here is hint: Toney is a LEGEND, a sure Hall of Famer who has never been ko'd at any weight! He has faced the best at HW (except for Klitschko) and was competitive with all of them (he beat current champion Peter in their first fight for christ's sake). A knock out win over win over Toney would propulse Haye in the top 3 of the division. He would get MASSIVE media attention and would probably be proclaimed the next best thing at heavyweight. Providing he wins (which is highly questionable imo), there couldn't be a better opponent to jumpstart Haye's career at HW than Toney. In any division, there is nothing like win over a legend (even a faded version) to make yourself known (Holmes vs. Ali; Tarver vs. Jones; DlH vs. Chavez I, Morales vs. Zargoza etc. etc.)
I didn't say you should. I just say you were racist, and you are. I love how you support "Eastern European" fighters first and foremost, when in reality the rivalry between Poland and Russia is as strong as a rivalry can be. Every Pole I know hates Russia. So clearly it is not down to some shared solidarity between Eastern Europeans, it is down to them being white. Who would you support between Kessler and Miranda? I think we all know the answer to that, and what your reason for support would be.
That is what I am talking about, Toney is a perfect opponent for Haye. It should be an honor for Haye to fight Toney. Who the fk has Haye beaten????? Who has Toney beaten? Nunn, McCAllum, Williams, Holyfield, Jirov, Barkley (just to name a few )
I've been following this debate now for a little while, and to me the blade seems like someone who knows what he is talking about. I can't say the same thing of you.
i've only read the last page of this thread and i still dont care what a poster called 'the blade' thinks.
and then again who cares about you. Your ridiculous high number of posts doesn't mean **** about your boxing knowledge. Stick to the facts man, me and BLADE made a case that Toney may very well represent a valid opponent for the "hayemaker". What is your added value to the discussion... close to nothing I guess. Pathetic guys like you made me leave forums a long time ago... peace:rasta.
Strike, you can F#ck yourself. I am not amused for being banned for two weeks, becuse you called me racist. Show me one quote of me making a racist comment against blacks. There is none! How the F#ck do you figure I am racist? Do you bother Mexican fans like Freddy? And call him racist becuase he supports 99.999 % Mexican fighters? No, who gives a ****. He is Mexican, he can and should support Mexican fighters. Puerto Rican fans have a lot of pride in their fighters and support them. I don't see assholes like you bothering them. I don't need you telling me what fighters I need to like.
Toney could win against Haye. It really depends what kind of shape Toney comes. If Toney takes Hayemaker in deep waters, he could TKO exhausted Haye in late rounds. But if Toney gasses out in late rounds him self, it will be UD for Haye
