Only time I ever saw him fight was in the last bout of his career against Alex Stewart in 1997. Turned on the TV one Saturday afternoon and there the two of them were. Stewart took a decision.... Warring was a highly accomplished kick boxing champion as seen below: Four time Professional kickboxing world champion: 1983 W.K.A. world champion (cruiserweight) 1984 F.F.K.A. world champion (super heavyweight) 1986 P.K.C. world champion (heavyweight) 1989 W.K.A. world champion (cruiserweight) Two time U.S. kickboxing champion: 1986 kick cruiserweight champion 1986 W.K.A. heavyweight champion He did fairly well as a boxer too.. His career was unfortunately broken up as the result of multiple periods of absence ( presumably due to his kickboxing career. ) His first boxing defeat was only in his second pro fight in what was scheduled as a 10 rounder against a man who was 20-3. He later won the IBF cruiser title and 3 world title fight wins. He was only stopped once and retired with a final record of 18-4-1-11. I can't help but think that if this guy were 100% devoted to boxing instead of kickboxing, that he might have materialized into a very good fighter.
He was a good cruiserweight champion. I also enjoy seeing him ref these days. They always seem to put him in there when really little guys are fighting, and he just looks huge. One of the sport's good guys.
He's on TV quite a bit. He's much rounder and balder these days. (As most of us are.) I remember when he stopped Pritchard, and it was considered like the quickest knockout in a title fight ever. I saw him against Al Cole, when Cole took the title. And I remember watching him against Alex Garcia on the USA Network when Garcia was supposed to be a top heavyweight, and it appeared Warring won. I never saw him kickbox, though. I'll have to seek those out.
from the little bit I've seen of him, he moved around really well. Was tricky to fight.. Looking at his photos and his credentials the man must have been an amazing athlete.. Tall, rangy, lean, fit..
