Jamie Conlan born 10-11-86 is a 5'7 Super Flyweight with a 16-0 10 KO's record. Born in an fighting out of Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Jamie who is the older brother of talented Irish amateur sensation Michael does everything in his power to live up to his nickname, The Mexican, even at his own peril. He's pretty damn aggressive and tends to prefer the role of the bull to the matador, although he's skilled at both, and he's almost paid for it dearly, he was dropped by Junior Granados twice and dropped by feather fisted but talented Anthony Nelson several times in a fight of the year candidate. He boxes very well off the backfoot as well, he's good at lying traps for his opponents, baiting them in and catching them with flashy combos, he's got a very good jab as well. Will he ever be next level, that's a hard one to call, because he seems to be packing glass ribs and even a hint of a glass jaw, but he has damn fine powers of recovery. So if he can work out his defensive issues and rein in his aggressiveness he might have what it take to be a breakout star, at the very least he can become a must see undercard attraction regardless if he take a few losses along the way. Fair play to conlon, looks like the Irish education system puts Americas to shame, at least Irish fighters can count to 10 unlike americans
I knew this was gonna happen. Oh well, now Jamie knows his role, get your ass back in there with local guys and put on a show. You're never going to be a world champ, but being The People's Champion is an achievable goal.
I can't wait until his arrogant lil brother gets beat down when he steps up.One thing is for sure though he will KO shakur Stevenson
Lol doubt Conlan is KOing any solid competition. Why do you dislike Stevenson though? He's a humble quiet kid.
I've never seen someone wilt and go down or nearly go down from every big body shot. Brave AF, but glass body.
His brother is levels above him in my opinion and will surpass anything Jamie can ever hope to achieve in the ring, a brave brave soul though, respect too him, Michael is the talented one tho.
That's true I shouldn't dislike Stevenson. I actually respect him crying(showed his passion). I just get the feeling he'll lose when he steps up, he's still only 18 or whatever he'll get much better
