Carl hand picked last nights opponents because he used him in the past as a sparring partner and thought it would be an easy nights work ? I agree about his conditioning it was shockin jamie must take responsibility for that in my opinion my
don Corkell He did much the same against a British opponent too, 20. Think it might have been Don Corkell...spelled slightly wrong to beat the censor....
Not picking on you moog, but I cant agree mate. Quigg has looked awful lately - against very mediocre opponents too. Carl looked excellent at times in there. Really excellent. Cruised the early rounds and finished strongly - had his man hurt in the 10th. Remember Quigg against Salinas? Garcia was/is a lot bigger tougher and better than Salinas. I would have thought that after Alejandro Gonzalez shocked Carl in the first round a few years ago nobody would ever again make the mistake of thinking ANY Mexican is a gimme for Carl or anyone else, they're all potential banana skins. Its completely unrealistic to expect any boxer to not have to struggle a bit, and have to work hard to win with these guys like Garcia. How would Selby, Warrington or Quigg have got on with a monster like Garcia last night? Certainly no better than Frampton IMO. Agree that once again we have seen Carls relatively weaker points exposed to view again though - engine and lack of a top class body attack - particularly a really good left hook to the body. He isnt perfect - but that was a bloody good win last night and people have been completely unrealistic criticising it. BTW moog I agre Selby is bad for Frampton. Ive always said Selby is all wrong for Carl - although perversely the longer the fight is put off the more I feel it benefits Carl as Lee must be dying at 126 by now and he could fall apart against Carl when they do meet because of this.......
He did look excellent early on when he was fighting to his strengths then decided not to. With Carl's strengths he should be making easy work of Garcia though Len. I also think all the others you mention would have beat Garcia and in Selbys case I think he would have toyed with him. Agree Selby all wrong for Frampton, though the weight will catch up with him sooner or later if he stays at FW.
Kevin Mitchell when he faced Michael Katsidis, blown away in 3 rounds and completely outclassed. That was worse than Conlan last night, but yes he was completely outclassed too
I remember all the hype and build up Mitchell got before it. It totally backfired, Katsidis destroyed him. Mitchell lived a hectic life, dont think his head was in it before hand. It was also prime a Katsidis who was a hell of a fighter.
