What are everyones thoughts on how far Jamie Cox can go? Could he win a World Title at Super Middleweight?

Jamie seems to have decent skills and a decent punch but only half a dozen fights ago he went life and death at Light Middleweight with Obodai Sai (I had Sai win the fight) but he has came back at Super Middle and had a few blow out victories.

Is it just the opponents that have been terrible or does Jamie Cox really carry dynamite in his hands that could trouble the top guys at Super Middle?

I personally think that he might struggle with his temperament when he steps up like he did when it was obvious that Sai wasn't getting bullied but he is exciting and think he could cause a few upsets against the fringe world level guys.

    Thoughts?

Same tournament as Frankie and Fletch.. Frankie being the same as Korobov and all that..

I think I watched a program somewhere about his troubles outside the ring and injuries and stuff..

I'd have Buglioni, Blackledge , Brophy & Markham to beat him tomorrow (I know Bug & Markham are no longer SMW but still)
I don't believe the hype at all, he's had impressive stoppages on paper, but that's it for me I'm afraid. Talks on like he's the next Mike Tyson too, which is annoying.

Oh and I hear he likes to throw his fists around out of the ring as much as he does inside it. However that's rumour not fact based.

He's 29 and needs to get a move on. Rebrasse would be a good fight for him.

What do you think about his temperament in the ring? Don't you think he loses his head quite easily and against the top guys this could well be his downfall.

He can still make middlweight so he should go there, He isnt a big super middleweight at all.

However, he is a big puncher and I would put him in with Chudinov tommorow

Put him in with Chudinov?? Based on what? He has fought not one single person of note. Not even proved himself at English level at super middle, let alone British or further.

I still remember the Obodai Sai fight. Was there an explanation for that debacle? If he hasn't improved drastically since then he'll not get past any of the top 10 in Britain let alone the world.

I was a big fan of Cox. Thought he had talent, but a mix of injuries and being a bit of a knob let him down.

I was surprised to see he jumped up to SMW, but he appears to be settling in fine, albeit, at the current level he is fighting at. Will have to see how he handles the strenth, power and punch resistance of the more elite SMWs when he moves up in competition.

It also appears like he is knuckling down properly now, in and out of the ring. If he continues to work hard, keeps out of trouble and his injuries don't flare up again, then i can see him easily doing well at Euro level and maybe even picking a world title up. The weight issue is the biggest potential stumbling block for me, rather than a lack of ability, for Cox not performing well at a high level.

Anyway, it's great to have him back. Good fighter, very entertaining and, as Billy said, lots of good s****s at domestic level for him.

would like to see jamie cox in a 50/50 fight, i think he might just fall apart like he did against sai but if he has matured and sticks to his boxing he could well reach world level. not sure if he could win a world title though
