    Another good match-up.

Hatton should put in purse bids for this fight and the Vassell vs Amar fight. That would be a great card if he put both fights on the same bill - if Cox and Vassell both win, then we have a top domestic fight for later in the year :yep:good

Would this be a Britsh title eliminator??
Hope the Hattons make this happen, it's a great match up and fair play to both camps if it comes off. (take note Matthew Hatton)
Would fancy Thompson to come out on top in a fierce battle of wills. Just think Cox's head might just go when things get tough. Cox has the talent, but maybe not the temperament and Thompsons has experience of having to dig deep.

If Thompson could Frustrate Cox then he could be halfway to beating him. I like Cox...but temperament wise i worry his first proper fight when he aint' having it all his own way he's going to throw a wobbler and come unstuck. Skills and ability wise i go for Cox...but i wouldn't bet on it.

I think Cox takes this. Thompson has been stuck at the same level for ages.

Cox and by vicious KO too!! Thompson is just too easy to hit and Coxy has very underatted boxing skills and power...:good

I think Amar has a chance against Vassell too as Denton has been far too inactive for me..:-(

I feel for Thompson slightly in that he has to fight another eliminator to land a British title shot. He's been on a long winning run, stopped former Commonwealth title challenger Criag Dickson, saw a Commonwealth final eliminator fall through, then outpointed former British champion Kevin McIntyre last time out.

What more does Thompson have to do to earn his shot?

That aside, I agree with Tony Bellew that Mark is far too easy to hit and he was nailed with a succession of left hands by McIntyre in the middle rounds. Cox is a lefty too, but quicker and, arguably, more powerful. Good fight in prospect if it happens.

Cox needs to clean up his defence. He is wreckless and gets hit too much by awful low level fighters.

Logically yes but part of me thinks he needs to take a big step up. He fights like he wants that step up. I'd like to see him sink or swim versus someone like Jennings.

definitely needs the step up to retain his interest in the game. maybe not jennings, but mark thompson could be the ideal opponent.

its a shame he hasn't come along and improved fight by fight building on that potential he showed early on

Cox is blatantly not happy with his level of competition and is losing focus in ring. As above lets' get in him a sink or swim fight...otherwise lads gonna lose to a journeyman before to long....he will go stale.
