I suppose it is an All-Ireland clash.

These 2 were probably the lads who sold the tickets

I guess that makes sense, but in theory a European title (even the lightly regarded "WBO European title", and not the real EBU version) ought to outrank a national title. Plus, a guy with a losing record (and twenty-eight losses at that!) higher on a bill than Jamie Cox, whose career is poised to go places, has an odd taste about it.

Oh, the clown from that fad sport for white suburban bro pussies with tribal bicep tats who couldn't hack it at boxing? Meh.

    Yeah:lol:

Gregor could have been a decent boxer though. His stand up game makes him worth watching. I'd say he probably has the best boxing skills in the UFC , but i don't follow the sport closely enough to say for sure.

Yeah McGregor has some skills.... He has an amateur boxing background unlike most MMA fighters, so he doesn't look like a complete caveman in there compared to a lot of his peers.

So like, KJ Noons level striking? Machida? Fedor? Or even better?

McGregor, Aldo, Mousasi, Gustafsson just to name a few. All really good boxers by MMA standards.

I'd compare him more to Noons considering they're closer in size. McGregor seems to have a much better chin, and doesn't get hit flush as easily as Noons did.

[yt]obgm6JNtyVo[/yt] Here's a good example of how good his boxing his compared to most of his peers. Skip to 7:25

    Round 9

McDonagh is hurling the right hand over the top and falling into clinches as Byrne chops at him with both hands down across the face. Both look knackered but refuse to let up. The only time both aren't punching is when they are leaning together in a tangle of arms, chests heaving. Jab and high right on the temple by Byrne. Huge left hook loaded up by McDonagh moving off the ropes, but Byrne keeps coming at him.

    10-9 Byrne, juuuuuuuuuuuuust nicked it.

    Round 10

McDonagh is easing off the gas pedal now, letting Byrne come up short with jabs at the body as he slouches forward and overreaches. Byrne doesn't have the energy or inclination to move from his spot unless McDonagh is actually walking beyond range and forcing him to follow. Clever turns & counter jabs by a very tired McDonagh, staying just a step ahead of Byrne. McDonagh is jogging around, hands low, pulling his face back to slip jabs. McDonagh raises his arms overhead to celebrate what, from the BN commentary, is shaping up to be a points win if Byrne doesn't get him in this last half-minute. McDonagh skirts his back along the ropes and drops a counter right hand and left hook on Byrne as he comes on.

    10-9 McDonagh
