Jamie McDonell vs. Stephane Jamoye RBR

Pretty clear McDonnell round.

 

Round 4

McDonnell gives him a shove off as Jamoye keeps himself pinned up against him on the inside. They infight and land short taps both ways until McDonnell moves outside and eats a head-snapping jab in the process. They get back in the pocket and trade again, and McDonnell gets a nice hook to the body. Again Jamoye snaps his head with a stiff jab. Jamoye really snaps that punch out. Jamoye misses a 1-2. McDonnell is too high with a right, then double-jabs to set up another and is high and wide left. Jamoye is getting inside his punches and up in his face. McDonnell slides his feet back and extends a long jab out. A flurry from both at the bell.

39-37 Jamoye

 

Round 5

McDonnell keeps plenty of jabs flowing. Jamoye is still trying to pressure his way inside but is a bit tentative trying to get around that long spear. McDonnell starts sniping from the outside, thrusting right hands behind the jab. Jamoye keeps moving forward and elbow-blocks a bit. HARD hook to the backside by Jamoye. Mcdonnell clinches up and pushes off. Hard jab in the face by Jamoye. McDonnell backs up jabbing. Jamoye lands a right uppercut. Hook to the body by McDonnell, and one in return up high by Jamoye. Shoeshine to the body by McDonnell. It gets a bit rough on the inside, Jamoye eating a shoulder before the ref forces a clean break. McDonnell throws a 1-2 and has a Jamoye right hand squeak right through the gap and down his gullet.

Very close round.

49-46 Jamoye

 

Round 6

McDonnell jabs out and ducks a Jamoye right. They push together into the ropes with Jamoye letting his hands fly up high. McDonnell is jabbing straight out and winding corkscrew rights to the body. Jamoye is throwing straight combos into McDonnell's chest. Hooking shots from Jamoye on the inside to the sides of the head. McDonnell has his back to the ropes and ties Jamoye up and spins out. Jamoye claps his fists against McDonnell's guard on the inside. McDonnell leaves a jab hanging out a bit too noodley and Jamoye slaps him with a high hook over it. Body shots from McDonnell, and he's warned for a low blow that didn't exist. Jamoye jabs him in the face and covers up as McDonnell gets back to the body work.

58-56 Jamoye

 

Round 7

McDonnell jabs and flurries low, trying hard to be first to land to start this round. Jamoye is warm to the challenge and punches right along with him but McDonnell is picking up steam and landing first and last in the exchanges. McDonnell is again warned for straying low with body shots. Jamoye is throwing more or less his same variety of punches but McDonnell has stepped up his own offensive game and is crashing home with combos up high and long whips to the body. Double jab to the face by McDonnell, and glancing right hand as Jamoye moves his head. Jamoye lands a bit when McDonnell leans in to work the body but is falling short with the mid-range battle of jabs and rights. McDonnell has figured out how to safely get inside by bending down and leading in with his shoulder turned out before working the body and getting back to long range where he's currently doing the superior work.
