There was confusion over the date of May 11th, but the money he'd get from a Hearn co-promotion of a world title fight means he felt it was worth ploughing his own furrow. Obvioulsy nobody can see this doing well and it's just a shame all round. As for Boxnation, W*rren still wouldn't **** on Hobson if he was on fire after the Hatton shenanigans unless it was over a very good deal. Hobson again felt he'd do better on his own. TV-wise he's in a hole over this one

Its either this or McDonnell's world title fight gets no TV, which would be a real shame.

On principle, I'll pay £11 to support this and watch the fight. I'm not buying Froch-Kessler PPV, as I already pay Sky subs and I think they are taking the **** putting that on PPV, but McDonnell's world title fight is a different thing, no problem paying for this and I hope they do decent numbers, they deserve support not ridicule.

 

This is what happens when you give one promoter a monopoly on Sky Sports.
This far deserves more coverage than some of the drivel we've seen on Sky.

Why are Boxnation not an option here? Also I know it doesnt make sense financially but Channel 5 might be better for Jamies career, exposure etc. It really has helped Fury so much.

Fights like this where they've nowhere else to go I think they might be better going the terrestrial route to earn fans??

 

Hobson tried working with Hearn (as he did for McDonnell's eliminator) but Hearn already has Burns on that night.

Hobson couldn't change the date of the fight because that was the only weekend that the Keepmoat was available.

Feel for mcdonnell he is one of the most improved boxers about and deserves his shot

Shame its ppv but main thing is he concentrates on the matter in hand and tries to make this not a one off world title fight

 

The price is a joke no doubt but no reason to take it out on venusdiablo. I feel sorry for the guy- Primetime are not popular on here and he gets a lot of flak despite seeming to be a sound lad!

It's a shame for McDonnell that this fight isn't on Sky or Boxnation. Good luck to him, I think he has a good chance.

 

I would pay for it too as I like McDonnell and think it will be a good fight but the undercard is dire and with Burns being on the same night, I'll stick to that I think.

 

This isn't doing anywhere near 1000 buys. Feel for McDonnell. At least he should have a big crowd at the stadium though, and hopefully a nice new world title come the end of it.
