This Sat in Texas Jamie McDonnell defends his WBA regaular title against Tomoki Kameda (younger brother of Koki and Daiki).

This bout was also suppose to be for the WBO title- which was held by Kameda, but the WBO refused to sanction it as a title fight as McDonnell was not ranked in their top 15, and wasn't seen as a proper unification as McDonnell holds a secondary title (Juan Carlos Payano is the Super Champ).

    Who wins?

Do you think he'll win? I see this as a pretty close fight. McDonnell doesn't have his trainer with him as he has a fear of flying....but i'm going to stick with JM by SD.

Nope. I've never suggested someone is a complete bum and would be destroyed only to dish out a complete schooling

You're the guy who said Broner would beat Duran.

I can't see how Mcdonnell wins, especially given his more recent performances

I'm a big fan of McDonnell. He is a very likable guy and he has achieved things in the sport that frankly not many people believed he would. A bit like Ricky Burns in that way. However, I do feel he is really up against it with Kameda. Kameda is good, potentially very good when his head is right.

Jamie has a terrific engine on him, good movement (in a sort of amateur and not professional way) and up to now has showed a good chin. He will need these against a quick, skilled and sharp, but not heavy, puncher in Kameda. Especially if Kameda is fully focused.

I'll be rooting for Jamie, but I do feel Kameda will take it and as much it will pain me, I wouldn't be surprised with a late stoppage in kameda's favour.

Certainly possible. I think most posters seem to be slightly under rating Jamie here though. If Kameda wins he's going to have to work for it.

:lol: Sorry but someone who receives a boxing lesson from Ponce De Leon does not give Roberto Duran fits.
