Rumours on twitter that this fight could happen , looks a cracking fight if it can be made . I'm sitting on the fence as both are good boxers and makes an interesting all British match up

McDonnell is too big for Butler.

    Would comfortably win.

Naturally different weight classes so would have to go with the bigger man.

McDonnell on pts. Butler isn't a real bantamweight.

Eddie Hearn offered Butler 200k to fight Jamie McDonnell.

Yeah its a huge offer for Butler, would have been lucky to have made a tenth of that for the Hall fight at the weekend. Hes put the pressure right back on Frank ****** to accept it now because thats big money for a fighter like Butler.

Its a great fight, Butler is more skillful than Mcdonnell but McDonnell is a lot bigger.

You reckon Paul Butler made less than 20k for his world title shot against Stuart Hall......:patsch

Yes? How much do you think he made as the challenger in front of a few thousand people in Newcastle on a small channel like boxnation?

Stuart Hall would be getting the majority of the split because he was the champion especially as it was a voluntary.

These boxers earn hardly any money at all, Jamie Mcdonnell still works occasionally as a plasterer and hes the WBA Bantamweight World Champion.

Word on the grapevine is BN fighters are quite handsomely paid. Id be intrigued myself. I would be pulling a figure out of the air but I'm almost certain there would be at least 80k in the pot for main event. Id be surprised if Butler earnt less than 30k.

Ill ask about try get a figure of one of the lads.

he did 500 tickets. theres 5k.

Why would they be well paid when boxnation isn't making any money? Why is everyone jumping ship to sky? Boxnation could be out of business in 6 months, ticket sales for Chisora vs Fury are really struggling.

frankie gavin is on a good screw, as are a few other upcoming fighters bradley saunders, BJS. Paul butler has been with BN from the start. Im not sure of the financial difficulties of BN but i know the fighters are well paid. Thats a fact. Probably why they are on there arse trying to compete with Matchroom.

Okay, maybe thats why they are on there arse then. Just don't think Butler should have been paid more than 25k for that fight considering the gate it did, how he was a voluntary and gifted the shot in a division he didn't even fight in. Think you could have got away with paying him a very small fee as 25k would have been way above what he got in previous fights.

Hes a great fighter btw and if he got 30k+ he deserves it cos of how good he is but it wouldn't have made much financial sense to me to give him that much.

Massive offer from Hearn, hope Frank swallows his pride and accepts the offer. Would hate to see Butler miss out on the payday he deserves.
