Mcdonnell too big for Butler, as well as being a couple of levels above Hall. Anyway, this match up is moot because the IBF ordered the winner to face Caballero within 90 days...

A fight almost certain to go to points. McDonnels size could be the difference, but wouldn't right Butler off.

I'd say Hall hits harder than McDonnell nowadays. I'd have even fancied him to beat Jamie on Saturday night. McDonnell's looked terrible since the night he won the IBF, perhaps the weight's killing him, he was talking about moving to super-bantamweight recently wasn't he?

Ah, you're probably correct, not sure about the IBF's rules I know some orgs say it's at their discretion...

"your forgetting Derry Mathews went the other way and he did that for money"

Matthews was never a Matchroom fighter, he was with Dave Coldwell and left for Frank. Matchroom never made him an offer as far as I know.

Back on topic, can't look past McDonnell on this one with his size advantage.

I can tell you now (as a fact) Tom Stalker was paid £2,000 per fight + 20% of ticket sales by Eddie. He's now making £4,000 per fight and 35% of ticket sales with Frank.

I also know (for a fact) that Anthony Joshua is currently making £9,000 per fight with Hearn. Frank offered him £22,000 per fight.

I won't speculate any other cases, because I don't know the exact figures.

These fighters aren't smart people, Hearn just spins them the "You're on the biggest platform, earn less now, earn more later bla bla bla" - it might be true, and I ****ing hate Frank for some of the things he's done(does) but it's a FACT that he pays his fighters better.

God knows, the only two fighters I know for a fact get paid on time, every single time - are Chisora (post Haye) and Billy Jo.

    McDonnell wins.

Better boxer (although Butler has the potential to exceed him), bigger (Butler looks too small for Bantamweight) and more experienced. He seems to have a decent jaw too so no chance of Butler getting a shock KO.

Bill Eves is the main sponsor of Boxnation, that guys worth an estimated£300 million..Boxnation is staying put!! :)

I agree with most here, McDonnell is far to big for Butler. Infact Butler should move back down and McDonnell should move up a division.
