McDonnell jabs and circles left. Good long right hand through for McDonnell. Hall is still patiently coiled, waiting to exercise his greater strength when the fly gets caught on the web. McDonnell uses as much of the ring as he can, landing jabs and ducking or blocking Hall's. Wild hooks at the body by Hall, with McDonnell jumping back out of their way. Hall lunges with jabs and rights and misses. McDonnell comes forward and Hall quickly covers up, for naught as McDonnell opts not to throw anything before darting out again. McDonnell blocks a 1-2 but is knocked off balance by a follow-up hook to the body. Wild uppercuts by Hall. McDonnell throws a scything combo stepping forward, landing from above and below. Good body shot by McDonnell.

Round 7

McDonnell lands well from the outside! Hall is rocked back to the ropes but comes back firing! Right hand from Hall. McDonnell jabs his head back. Hall is getting out-gunned from medium range. Hall tries a hook but is stifled with McDonnell stepping forward and putting up his forearms. Now McDonnell hooks him back and lands. The referee tries frantically to get their attention, pantomiming by headbutting his own hands to tell them to WATCH IT. Hall is throwing sloppy rights now, straying high and wide. McDonnell circles and enjoys the more easygoing pace, throwing nice long right hands. Hall jumps in and misses some hooks. Good looping right to the body by McDonnell, just above the belt. McDonnell lands a hook to the chin and slides through a Hall shot across his shoulders to drum in a pair of cracking body shots with a right and a left!!

67-66 McDonnell, his first lead since 10-9!

 

Round 8

McDonnell darts in and out and works his jab, avoiding the more ponderous shots of Hall. McDonnell not having to move as much now, with Hall staying in place. Hall lands a big right but keeps trying for more and missing. McDonnell lands his own right. Now a big body and head combo!! Beautiful in-out boxing by McDonnell!!!!!! Hall throws a short uppercut into the gloves. McDonnell pops his jab outside. McDonnell dodges the Hall jab. McDonnell ducks a wild hook. Big 1-2 to the chest by McDonnell. Hall pitches out a high 1-2 of his own but McDonnell leans back to the ropes to let it sputter out. McDonnell moving very nicely and jabbing between ducks of Hall's shots. McDonnell is putting Hall in knots. BIG UPPERCUT TO THE CHIN BY MCDONNELL!!!!!!
