Decided to retire. Good career with the highlight being the Kameda victories on the road. British, Commonwealth, European and World title holder. Wish him well.
Enjoyed followng his career ...always gave a good account of himself ,had no attributes that were outstanding and jumped out at you but everything came together well and he won a world title and did himself proud. Think the Inoue fight was the result of him draining himself to the bone so long...I'm not saying he'd have won..but I don't think he'd have got bombed in the first round. Enjoy retirement mate..it's been a great career
Jamie had a brilliant career, lost a couple of domestic fights early on to good operators then went on to fully go through the levels winning all the titles up to two world titles. Really good boxer and no bones about him he did great. He was well in over his head with Inoue and most people knew it but he still went over and give it a go. Always rated him and think he’s made the right decision with no regrets.
Met him the night he fought on the undercard of Lee Purdy v Leonard Bundu. Came across as a real nice bloke. Good luck to him in retirement, he's had a career he can be very proud of.
I hope he can enjoy food now, those brothers always looked unhealthily thin, Cristian Bale in The Machinist levels when they were making weight. Great career, the weight beat him in the end.
Echo what everyone's said. He had a brilliant career and I wish him all the best in retirement. Know he has had big problems in private life of late, hope things look up for him soon. He had excellent boxing fundamentals and used them well.
Really enjoyed watching Jamie, and also his brother Gav. Value for money fighters. Good luck going forward.
