fighting moore would be a step down for macklin at this stage.moore should fight barker and then the winner takes on macklin if he overcomes pirog
I would probably agree if it was a devastating loss that he suffered but there is no disgrace in losing to Rhodes especially when he was suffering at the weight.. If Macklin can lose to Moore (in an equally stunning fight) and then recover the way he has then there is no reason Moore can't. Moore has a lot of things in his favour, good fan base and a likeable character. I'm sure Sky will be looking to push him forward at every oppertunity
Moore is a very good domestic fighter who can entertain every boxing fan but he was never going to go better than Euro level. I was very critical of Moores euro belt reign because he never fought anyone of that standard and his period holding the belt was very poor. A mixture of old opponents, shot opponents and guys who Frank Maloney turned down for being too crap to face Tony Jefferies. The first good fighter he faced he lost to. Moore walked forward slowly and soon fell for Rhodes game. The excuses ruined his reputation for me. Face the fact he lost to a guy far better than him. Blowing away bums is not the right preparation for stepping up in class. At Middle he can still be decent but anyone class will stop him.
He needs to start moving his head more (infact his movement in general could be improved) but he is one of the best pressure fighters we have at the moment. He has recovered from losses before and come back stronger, I don't see any reason he can't do the same this time round
With regards to your comment about him being a likeable character and having a following.....so does ****** Timberlake, doesnt mean he is going to have a good boxing career. His head movement has been non existent his whole career. Being a pressure fighter is all good but not at Middle where he not big enough to bully opponents
James Moore is Irish, but living in America. To the person who said they saw him on an undercard in America and wasn't too impressed that was probably v Yuri Foreman on the Kendall Holt v Demetrius Hopkins undercard. Yuri was just far, far too god for him but Moore v Sinclair should be good. As for Jamie Moore, I'd like to see him go the British/European route again. Get a few wins and look for a fight with Barker.
no but it does help... look at Hatton I'm not saying he is going to be an ATG, I just think he will get a shot at a world title during his career.... wide sweeping prediction I know but he is only 4 wins of it IMO... even after a loss
Moore v Barker winner gets Macklin. I'd also like to see him fight the Irish /American James Moore as there can be only 1
I may have been thinking of a different fight mate cos pretty sure it wasn't Foreman, I wouldnt have been so critical against opposition of that quality, to be honest though i cant remember, look forward to seeing how him Vs Sinclair goes.
That's a difficult question to answer because it depends on other fighters circumstances at that time but I think firstly (as suggested in my OP) he needs to find an Aisikainen... couple more European boughts then you never know Macklin or Rhodes could have a title by then.... I think there would be plenty of people willing to watch a II of either of them You posted on another thread he's still WBC No.8, so it's not exactly impossible of him getting a shot at somepoint, no???
Aisikainen was a top ranked fighter coming of a close loss at word level. If Moore was to fight someone like that at Middleweight right now he would get sparked out. Give him a Paul Samuels at Middleweight first, then jsut keep him busy with guys until Macklins picks up the belt and be his first defence. If he wins defend if he looses retire of the back off a pay day. If Macklin looses both should fight for a pay day and then retire.
