I think Jamie is a very likeable man whom every fighter will respect.

Although I don't know in depth about his training methods, advice etc, I will never forget what he said about the great Sugar Ray Robinson a few years back.

He was talking about the best fighters in history then went on to say oh and this Robinson fella seems not bad as well. Saying he only recently heard about him. I thought that spoke volumes.

I don’t know the context but you sure it wasn’t tongue in cheek?
I’d be hard pressed to believe a (former) professional boxer hadn’t heard about a guy touted by many as the GOAT.

I can't remember if I read about it or seen a video. I think he said Sugar Ray Leonard was his favourite ever fighter and the interviewee or whoever said what about Robinson? Moore replied saying yeah I only just started looking at this guy recently.

No he certainly wasn't. I think Moore is a very good peoples person, however I don't think he is knowledgeable in an educated sense.

Moore was a British level fighter and I always wonder how people can train people to become World Class when they failed themselves.

Must be like Ian Holloway becoming manager of Barcelona - the Barca players would be wondering WTF this cabbage is all about if Holloway walked through the door and spoke for more than 60 secs.

McCracken obviously springs to mind as having been successful so it can be done if lucky to be paired with the right fighters.

There’s been numerous examples of people who have never boxed who have trained World Champions but you are right a lot is down to having the caliber of fighter to train to get them to that level in the first place I think Jamie is a decent British level coach imo

I disagree mate however I understand what you are saying.

A great coach does not have to have been a world level athlete, nor does a world level athlete necessary become a good coach.

I don't think the great trainer Ray Arcel was a boxer.

In football Jose Mourinho never played professional, nor did Arsene Wenger at a top level. Or Jurgen Klopp for that matter.
