Watched the replay several times and i dont see how anyone could say that was anything but intentional, should have been an instant DQ in my opinion maybe i am just pissed off because i was looking forward to this fight or maybe i am ****en pissed off because between that and the typical lebo scuffle at the end of the Dib fight give Aussie boxing a further bad name what do you guys reckon?
I felt exactly the same way, but in reverse. The Withers elbow got me annoyed and the Dib stoppage / post fight scenes made me angry!
You have a point there, He provided a testimony for Les Mara when he got taken down for a multi-million dollar shipment of coke.
Fears refereeing in both the withers and Dib fights was inexcuseable. I felt sorry for Daniel Amman who was clearly upset by Withers deliberate foul yet conducted himself with restraint. Husseins hangers on/ gang are a disgrace.
Would have been a great fight. They both looked nervous, very tense in the shoulders. I think Jamie was a tool for doing what he did. I don't believe it was intentional in the sense that he tried to cut him or take him out. Most likely shake Amman up and get away with doing it for as long as possible...which would have been about a second considering how blatant it was. They both looked destryed the fight was stopped. Not every day you get to showcase your talent to a national audience. Withers looked more and more contrite as the crowd booed and i believe he will be very ashamed he caused his and Amman chance to come to a screaming halt the way it did. With that in mind Superboxer would be rubbing their hands together thinking of a rematch and potential ratings....could even be heavily advertised as a grudge match...
Personally I cant wait to see the Mc-Cra-ck-en Vea rematch, Vea didnt quite know what to do with anthony once he couldnt put him away after 2 rounds and it made for a bloody entertaining fight as he came back in and put pressure on vea. Rematch over 10 I say
McCracken called him out for a 12 rounder title shot from memory. How awkward is McCracken....once he warmed up and started moving. He makes you cringe a bit but you can see if he had a few more fights under his belt and used more angleshe would be a solid opponent in the ring. I was impressed with Vea. He came out strong and nimble, good on the hand speed. Your right, he looked a little lost heading into the 3rd and 4th rounds with McCracken absorbing shots on the gloves and arms. Good fight for TV..
It's a shame the Ammann-Withers fight ended the way it did as the winner could have fought Vea in a big fight. Ammann and Vea have already fought twice and they were both wars. Real shame it ended that way.
looking at Jamie's face he new he ****ed up he is normally a good clean fighter ! Maybe the heat of the moment.
