    Congrats to the Kazakh but why in the world wouldn't the WBO have their top two contenders fight for the title. Sometimes, boxing drives me crazy!

    It's not his fault. 2 fighters ducked him on his way to becoming champion.

    Alimkhanuly was supposed to fight Munguia for the WBO interim title, but Munguia declined to fight him. That set up Alimkhanuly vs Dignum for the WBO interim title.

    After Alimkhanuly beat Dignum, the WBO ordered Andrade to fight Alimkhanuly, but Andrade decided to vacate.

    Alimkhanuly was then elevated to full WBO champion. Both Andrade & Munguia gifted the WBO title to Alimkhanuly.

    Don't blame Alimkhanuly or the WBO. Blame Munguia & Andrade for ducking him.

    Would have been more acceptable to have named him "interim" champ or whatever. You have to win a belt in the ring, not by lawyers IMO.
