You could have also said what about Alexey Tischenko over Frankie Gavin, but the reason for both Tischenko and Artayev is that they are still Olympic champions. Only about 6 months to go before that maybe changes, but until then they keep there status as Champions! It might not seem right but are rankings ever atsch World Cadet rankings now available
Good point. It's great that you're doing this ranking. However, I can argue why Tischenko above Gavin: Gavin beat Tischenko once at the worlds, while Tischenko has been at the top for a long time, and is European and olympic champion. Gavin has to beat Tischenko again to show it was no fluke... you could always argue the opposite too though. With Korobov, however, Artaev was olympic champion at 69, not 75kg... and since the olympics, Korobov has been showing superior performances at middleweight to Artaev and has won the major tournaments since then... If you only take recent performances, then Gavin beats Tischenko, because he won the worlds, but then, you'd also take Korobov over Artaev, since Korobov won the worlds and Europeans... see where I'm coming from?
