2008 gets off to a great start with Jones Jr vs Trinidad, and helping things along is a pretty interesting undercard. The card will be screened on Main Event on January 20 1PM Eastern. Also featured will be heavyweights Andrew Golota (40-6-1, 33 KOs) vs Mike Mollo (19-1, 12 KOs). Preceding them are Super Welterweights Roman Karmazin (36-2, 23 KOs) vs Alex Bunema (28-5-2, 14 KOs). Starting things off are Super Lightweights Devon Alexander (13-0, 8 KOs) vs DeMarcus Corley (31-7-1, 17 KOs). $40 for Fox or Optus subscribers, $50 for Austar or watch it free at your favourite local, venues can be found here at http://www.foxsports.com.au/boxing/fight-night (though none are up yet). Certainly worth making the effort as anything can happen in a Golota fight and Karmazin is entertaining as well. Alexander is being hyped so a good match up there. Hopefully the start of a big year for boxing.
The other day i rewatched Trinidad vs Sweet Pea, kind of felt sad for Pernell. I want someone like Cotto (a future star) to face Felix (an older fighter). There is a size diff but Cotto would go ok. I just have no idea how Trinidad can beat even this version of RJJ.
will be saving my money. who give s fk about jones and trinadad. 3-4 years ago maybe, 6-7 years def, now big deal!
Fair call shiner but I reckon thats a fairly decent undercard. If it were just Jones Jnr and Trinidad I'd be saving my money but I'm gonna fork over and have some mates over. Golotas a sideshow unto himself, definete 'car crash' watching to see what will happen next with him. Both Roy & Tito are well past their prime and realistically they should market it as 'Once more for the money'.
