Maybe this guy could fight the Klitschkos one day.

Are there any more Japanese heavyweights?

Rio Hidaka, 8(7)-0-0 has talent. Bot whitout a big promoter, he is very inactive. :-(

He's also 5'9" so has zero chance of making it in today's HW division.

5'9.... couldn't find much pictures of him on google.... Hard to imagine that he's 5'9 and a HW from just muscle, he must be carrying some extra weight around his mid-section.

6 ft is not an unusual height for a 5'7 nation .

it's still way better than countries like mexico ( average is 5 ft 4 in )

this ws my submission to the japanese boxing thread. rio hidaka.
even though hidaka is short he isnt sort of small...if that makes sense. think montell griffin. he was 5'7/5'8 light heavy who was able to outbox and outhustle far bigger fighters but he was able to take hold of a lot of ground. julius long who is 7'0 hardly controls or uses any ground. hidaka has a very good dash and swarm but agaisnt nobodies.

if fujimoto and hidaka get a fight together it could be a bit of a draw in japanese boxing...i believe there hasnt been a japanese heavyweight for years. i dont know if there is even a title?

    i'm interested

nah he is pretty much filled out. look at ****** fortune for example.

im not saying either guy is a world beater or a world champion or even contender....but it oculd be a good round robin if they could get another japanese heavy in the mix.

People gotta stop ruling guys out based on height. Look what Sherman Williams was able to do to a supposed top ten guy like Helenius!
Six feet is fine if he has the skill. Does he have the skill? That's the question.
