I'd like to introduce you to Japanese teenager Naoya Inoue (2-0, 2). A youngster who many in Japan are viewing as a fighter with limitless potential and who could win a title quicker than Kazuto Ioka did and be a champion for over a decade. A full article and a video of his professional debut can be found here: http://www.boxingprospects.info/1/post/2012/10/naoya-inoue.html Give it a look if you're interested in a fighter that IBOHOF journalist, former trainer and former manager Joe Koizumi has tipped. Honestly the kid is unreal and proves that Japan is doing something special with their youngsters right now.
ESB has a rule against reproducing articles of which you are not the author/owner, but i'm getting the sense that you are?
I am the author of that article, though I've not reproduced it for here, merely linked to it. :good Had I copied the full article I think that may have broke ESB/Boxingforum24 rules
As long as you be the author nobody cares. It was a succinct read, people will be purging that for years to come if this guy ends up as special as you suggest.
well, he does look quite amazing to me. Speed , accuracy with single power shots and the openings he finds for them, the way he keeps his composure.. reminds me of Mayweather a tad. yeah, damn - he's good.
I know Anson Wainwright (Max Boxing) rates him highly as well. It's nice to see an English language piece on him.
Someone on another forum basically laughed at the OP for putting the link on the other forum saying they see nothing special in the kid, I dare say the poster who laughed needs to start watching another sport. Inoue is special from what I've seen, read and heard.
From what i've seen, he is definitely a good prospect, with accuracy, timing and composure beyond his years.
I was impressed with Inoue's punch placement and the venom he puts into his body shots. It's pretty rare to watch a fighter be able to sink the straight right to the body; let alone with enough force to produce a knockdown. The fact that this kid is capable of doing this from the start certainly indicates that he possesses a skill-set that will make him one to watch going forward.
There is so much to like about the kid, and as you said he seems to have it all from the get go. It's almost like it's innate. Whilst he was a very talented amateur it seems like something more than just being well schooled. Anyone can be well schooled but to know which shots and when is something a bit more special than just the schooling.
